Basically for every BoD except taming, u receive points as well as a reward for turning in a bod. But in order to get a better chance at the better stuff, u need to continue to do more bods to get more points. These points do accumulate and the more u do the better chance u have down the road. A little bit of patience pays off on this one.
For taming it is a little bit simpler, the bigger the BoD, typically the better the chance of a reward, and u wont be accruing points over the amount of BoDs u turn in, like u would with the crafting BoD.s
Hope I didnt leave anything out and answered ur questions. :?:

Someone can correct me if im wrong, but i dont think u get to see how many points u have accumulated. To turn in a BoD, just give it to an NPC, same person u got it from basically

you don't accumulate points - each bod is worth a certain amount...

so if you look at the table, you add up everything on the bod for a point total, and then use that number to see which rewards you can receive from doing that bod.

For example, if you have a bod that calls for:

10 iron exceptional cutlass
you'd add 10 points for the amount (10)
0 points for iron - since it has no bonus
200 points for being exceptional
and end up with 210 points.... so, looking at the table youd have

90% Sturdy Pickaxe
10% Armor of Crafting +1

since your total was above 200, but less than the next reward level of 400.....

another example 20 Bronze Exceptional Platemail (large)

+20 (50 points)
+200 (Exceptional)
+350 (bronze)
+400 (large platemail)

= 970 points so your rewards would be:

50% Gold Runic Hammer
50% Metal Dye Tub

Wiki is nice but really doesnt give a good explanation, or example for someone who has never played the game before, and alot needs to be updated. Much has been referred to stratics, but stratics has alot of information that doesnt apply to our shard. Best thing to do is to ask like u did on here, i even got to learn something!

for a 20 cutlass bod you have to use iron. the cutlasses can be exception or normal
for a 20 bronze cutlass bod you have to use bronze. the cutlasses can be exception or normal
for a 20 exceptional bronze cutlass bod you have to use bronze. the cutlasses must be exceptional.

You can only combine the items that the bod calls for. So if it wants normal iron cutlass's (YOU CAN USE IRON EXCEPTIONAL TO FILL IT), bronze will not work to bump up your reward. Since the reward calls for NORMAL cutlass's the reward is based on that, even if you fill it using exceptional iron cutlass's. The reasoning for this, is once you get past a certain point, you can make exceptional weapons 100% of the time, so making something normal just isn't possible.

Also at some point, normal bods become REALLY rare. I hardly ever get them at 120. In fact, i don't think I've gotten even one in a few hundred bods.

This is probably a good thread to post some excel docs I have been working on. I have taken Blacksmith, Bowcraft, and Carpentry and put all the data into tables for possible bods. Just choose the material type below, and you can easily see normal and exceptional point values, as well as some color coding for the best rewards. So you can see which materials are only good in large bods, or which large bods are crap.

I also included my taming excel doc, it shows the zoo and a lot of taming houses, and which animals are available at each. If you have any questions about location just ask.

Where is the "retreat" location mentioned in your taming location file?

Thank you in advance.

Retreat is a house called Woodland Retreat owned by Snydly. He has some portals setup and each one goes to a different room with animals. It is located at 108N 52E left (southwest) of the dungeon Wrong. You can see the animals on the roof.
