What does an end-game weapon look like?
What does an end-game weapon look like?
Feel free to post screenshots of your "end-game" weapon.
I recently came across a weapon that's 4 x 46 before leveling and trying to figure out how good of a weapon it would be if I leveled it and used 10 deeds on it to get an additional 45 points.
No, the 5 x 46 does not include Hit Dispel or DI.
If I use the 10 deeds to level the weapon I end up with this:
Hit Fireball 60%
Hit Lightning 57%
Hit Harm 50%
Hit Energy Area 50%
Hit Mana Leech 50%
Hit Stamina Leech 46%
Hit Lower Attack 46%
Str Bonus 8
Any thoughts?

Personally, I would ensure Hit Light is 60% as well. That is your hardest hitting direct hit. I would reduce Mana Leech or Energy Area to achieve this if needed.

I could easily reduce Hit Energy Area to 47% and increase lightning to 60%.SLiMX wrote:Personally, I would ensure Hit Light is 60% as well. That is your hardest hitting direct hit. I would reduce Mana Leech or Energy Area to achieve this if needed.
But is it worth spending 1000 EDs on this weapon? Or is it not quite the end-game weapon?
Re: What does an end-game weapon look like?
It does look like a nice weapon, but some might not want hit area on it, depending on its use.
Sometimes you just don't want to draw everything onto you, but if you're okay with that then maybe this is the one. 4x46 is pretty hard to come by!

Sorry...
I made a mistake, it's 5 x 46.Opopanax wrote:It does look like a nice weapon, but some might not want hit area on it, depending on its use.

To me any wep with 3 x 58+ is an endgame wep and all depends why your adding the 10x+10 level deeds. Is it for the strength? Can you lower another hit instead of spending 1k eds? Up to you bud.

10 x 10 deeds = 50 points no?Muolke wrote: used 10 deeds on it to get an additional 45 points
i used 10 deeds on all my ancient war hammers. the extra points are clutch when you are already spending so much for a unique weapon. if the looted weapon isn't perfect, it doesn't justify the deeds. You'll never get that money back.
NME got a 5x58 looted weapon, the war hammer he carries, that might warrant 10 deeds for a looted non auction weapon.

Yes, it is extra 50. So 545 total points instead of 495.Alex wrote:10 x 10 deeds = 5 points no?Muolke wrote: used 10 deeds on it to get an additional 45 points

The weapon I have isn't perfect...but how many "perfect" weapons are there? If I had to change anything i'd say I wish instead of hit stamina leech it was hit fireball, instead of hit energy area it was hit lightning, and instead of hit lower attack it would be hit lower defense...then it would be perfect.

I don't know how correct the usage of the word "clutch" is there... In all honesty, with end game stats 60% HLA may as well be 0% HLA for all the difference it makes. Although not strictly true, the same can be partially said for stam and life leech. The only non AoE wep hits you NEED are the 3 spells, mana leech and HLD (which makes it a 5x_ weapon). The rest, as they say is just gravy.
It certainly looks better having a nice 6x60 or 7x50 when the dust settles, but in terms of damage output, it actually does the same amount as Joe Blow's (correctly statted) 5x50/60.
That said if I had but one ancient warhammer it is likely I would deed it up as well...
Back to Muolke's original post. It is certainly good enough to make into an endgame axe or war hammer, would make a poor bow due to the AoE. I would skimp on the strength though and pump more points into HL and HH. HL should always be your highest, if you can't max the rest.
EDIT: I've actually thought further on this and have come to the opinion that HLA is actually actively bad and should not be on a quality weapon. The logic is this. In the endgame you just want to kill as fast as possible. The largest amount of damage you do is via your RPD, (which is why overcap RPD items are so coveted), as such you actively want mobs hitting you as much as possible. If you HLA them, they are less likely to hit you, less likely to do the massive RPD and hence your weapon has now made you do LESS damage than you possibly could have before. Think of Mino's in laby. The fastest way to kill them is for them to AI hit you and 1hitko themselves. If you've got off a HLA this event is less likely. Same goes for ALL mobs that deal physical damage. It's the same reason most players try and build their suit so that they do NOT max out physical resist, in fact you want phy resist as LOW as possible to maximise the damage from RPD. I don't care how hard you hit, nobody hits for the 900+dmg that a reflected blow does on a mino. Possibly need to add a deed to the ED stone for "Remove HLA malus from a weapon" like the mage malus one.

Very interesting and well thought out post. Maybe +C or someone else is reading this and can include a deed for that.
Perhaps like there is a relayer deed there can be a deed to change one of the properties on a weapon? Now that would be awesome.
