Voting IP

Do we have to vote for the server from the original IP we started playing from to gain the rewards? I've noticed that it does not ask for your account name when voting so I can only assume it is logging your IP. The reason I ask is I could vote from my work PC but if the votes didn't count towards my player account then there would be no point in doing so.

Last I heard, you have to use the same IP for voting and logging in for the votes to count. If you were to install UO on your work computer though, you'd be all set

I think it is tied to IP, but using the stone in game to vote also uses some kind of session code to tie the vote to you to ensure you get credit. For that reason I think you can vote from any IP, as long as you then also collect it while on the same IP. I've been away with my laptop before and I'm sure that I forgot to collect one of the votes when I was away and I couldn't get it once I'd gone back home. I guess part of that is to stop people voting on multiple unique IPs within the 24hr cool down.

I thought it was tied to always being logged in to forum but I could be wrong. Sometimes I vote from my browser without being logged into game and sometimes I vote from voting stone in TC and still get credit either way. But it is easier to vote from browser since the "not a robot" verification doesnt have you do the tests but the voting stone does, you would think it should be the other way around.

It is tied to your ip. Just make sure you collect the reward while still on that internet connection. That way no matter where you are you can vote and get rewarded. I mostly log in from 2 different places and have voted and collected the reward from both. Cooldown still applies so you can't get extra rewards. This is monitored for compliance in some fashion. I don't pretend to know how.

heya! as far as I know, its solely based off IP address. only one account can vote per IP address, for example Rhiemath and I cannot both vote, since we both share an IP address. When I moved up here I didn't seem to have any issues voting from a different IP address, it doesn't verify anything but is tied to your account via the vote stone. So there will be a cool down daily from when you vote, which is tied to your IP address. Hope that helps

Did you try copying the link that is generated when you press the 'Open Browser' button? I didn't check it, but I think it should generate the same VoteId for you to be able to link your votes to your account, so it shouldn't be IP-based.
