RBG Poker Run Event!

What is a Poker Run?
Well…in real life it is when a group of people (usually on motorcycles) get
together, pay an entrance fee that is donated to a good cause or the winner
pot, and they are given a route with 5 stops along the way. At each stop they
draw a playing card. There is usually some scenic road and a pub or two
involved. At the end of the ride (or run) the one with the best poker hand
wins. Sounds simple enough, right?
Except that Excelsior does not have playing cards so we had to improvise a
little…..ok, we improvised a lot. *laughs*
In the RBG Poker Run you are invited to join us,
There will be an entry fee, there is a specified route, there will be some scenic roads and pubs involved, just like a real life Poker Run.
And here’s where it gets a little creative….
No motorcycles in Excelsior, so bring your favorite “ride” (pet) There will be
times you will need to shrink them, so plan accordingly.
Entry fee will be 25k gold (- if you are a new player and can’t afford the fee
or you would like to sponsor a new player entry fee, please contact Sinja or
Praise.)
At each stop there will be an activity you must participate in to get points.
You will get to throw a dart, roll some dice, race a chicken, and play
Jeopardy Summoning. There will be more detailed instructions and
directions as you go along your run. Please look for and READ the instruction book at each stop, as it will tell you how to play and what to do next!
BUT WAIT….there’s more!
There will also be a Poker CHIP run at the same time!
At registration you will be given a Poker Chip Bag with your name on it.
Keep it with you throughout the event. You will turn it in at the end of the
Poker Run.
At each stop, after your Poker Run score is recorded, you will be given a
locked box. Inside that box is a poker chip. There are 3 colors of chips. Red,
White and Blue. The one you get will be totally random. You will have to
break or pick the box to find out what color you get. (They can be opened at
any time throughout the event, and you will be asked to turn in the chips
only at the end)
Do NOT leave a stop until you get your Poker chip! This assures that your
score has been recorded, as well as gives you a chance to win the Poker Chip
Champion prize!
Towards the end of the Poker Run, you will be asked to turn in your Poker
chip bag. Once everyone has turned in their bag, we will reveal the Poker
Chip values.
There will be 3 locked boxes, one with a red chip, one white
and one blue. We will ask a random person to break a box. The first chip
revealed will be worth 25 points. The second chip revealed will be worth 10
points and the last revealed will be worth 5. RBG will total the points in
your bag to determine the winner. In case of a tie (which is a real
possibility) we will have a “Roll off”. (roll dice, high number wins)
A few things you should know:
This is NOT a race, the end will require everyone to be there, so the faster
you go, the longer you will have to wait for the final activity. (sorry!)
So have some fun with it!
There is no fighting or danger involved. So anyone can participate.
The only skill required is taming, enough to tame a chicken, which can be
bought from an NPC animal trainer.
We will be having a Free For All Summoning Race, that requires being able
to cast 5th circle spell, Summon Creature. BUT this is just for fun (while
scores are being totaled) and NOT A REQUIREMENT to finish the Poker
Run. If you can’t cast, you can still come watch and root for your favorite.
This is the first time we’ve ever tried this and it requires a lot of score
recording, so please be patient with us if you have to wait your turn for an
activity. We want to be sure to get everyone’s score recorded correctly.
We will open the Event Center around 1400 for a meet and greet if you’d
like to come early and get more details.
Registrations will start at 1500.
Registration will close at 1600 at the World Save. NO registration
after 1600. This is to make sure everyone has time to finish the Poker
Run.
Winner of the Poker Run will be determined by points scored throughout
the Run and will win the only 2021 Poker Run Champion prize in
existence. Oh! And a million in gold!
Winner of the Poker CHIP run, will be determined by the total amount
scored with the 5 chips in their bag. (If you have more or less than 5 chips,
you cheated or didn’t participate and will be disqualified.
Yes, culichi this includes you! Lol)
Winner of the Poker Chip Run will win the only 2021
Poker Chip Champion prize in existence! And yep, you get a million gold
also!
The person with the lowest points before Jeopardy Summoning will win
the 2021 NOT EVEN CLOSE to a CHAMPION prize. The only one in
existence, also! And 250k. {Please note if you would win the Poker Chip Champion you would automatically be disqualified for this}
All winners MUST have 5 chips, and scores for each activity.
We are Estimating between 2-3 hours for the event.
