Taking items from locked-down containers

I don't quite understand this part. Vysantha and I tested this, her in her house and me with a non-friended character. I'd try to open a chest that she locked down and I would receive "That is locked" message. So I can't even see what's inside, let alone take it. Even if I was friended I would get the same results. She even tried herself, as the owner of the house, to open and take something from the locked down container but she would get the "You can not pick that up/It is locked down" message.

Last time I checked if you lock down a container it locks down everything inside it, and you have to release them to take anything out. Therefor not preventing co-owners from taking things, and only being able to do so by securing containers and setting them to owner only.

yeah lock down will only allow you to add things but not remove them. anytime you plan to add/remove you should secure them. you'll usually only want to add lock down to non openable items.
