My wife and I use to play UO a Long time ago. We are kind of in a lul between games right now and saw an add for a free shard somewhere. It wasnt for this shard but we did alil research and decided to give this community a try
We are long time avid gamers and enjoy duoing most of the time and would love some help picking out 2 classes that work well together. We had several toons back in the day - tamers, dexers, bards, etc...
We logged in alil bit ago and were TOTALLY lost

so any combo of classes/skills that would work together well would be appreciated as we are completely noobified.
Thanks for taking the time to look this over.

Hey you two! Welcome! Well the simple answer is...both of you get everything!
There is no skill cap here and skill training (for the most part) is VERY quick so there's no real reason not to have as many skills as you can gobble up. As per usual Magery/Taming/Bardic skills are a good way to go so might want to focus on them.
Just a note...hold onto that precious +60 skill ball you start with until you're a bit established and can take full advantage of them. Also keep your young status as long as possible...other than that enjoy your stay.

Heya and welcome!
You can Pm people in game using [pm (username)..... feel free to [pm watcher with any questions you have and ill be happy to help you with the limited knowledge i have....
Somewhat along those lines (I know there has been a few posts like this) I will post some things i think new players should know to help with game play.
* Take advantage of the training room. You can set yourself up with a weapon and shield, whatever the case my be, and gain up to 75 in your skills. You can also set up an anatomy/eval int macro while you fight...
* Do Joe the apprentice quest in the newbie dungeon (through the gate in the training room). You can do it (once or twice?) an hour and you get between 80-120 organics per quest. Save up a thousand and you have 200k enough for a house plot. You can do the quest for up to 21 days so it is easy to make enough to be fully fitted out with a house and gear decent pets and well on your way to becoming a beast!
* train spirit speak and stealth. You will die... regardless of how calan'd you are. Having stealth makes it alot easier to get back to your body and claim your corpse. On those same lines make sure you insure your items! It is amazing how many new players lose good items given to them from vets from a failure to insure items. To insure single click then toggle item insurance. The best healing spells in the game are the cleric spells. type ( i pray to the gods). The touch of life spell [cs touchoflife is the best as it heals around poison etc as well as doing good HP. Train your Spirit speak up so you can use this spell.
* Take advantage of the new player donation chests. Once you have a suit with 100% LRC you dont need to worry about tithing gold or regs which makes it alot easier to Gm magery etc.
* Download UOAM. It is alot easier to say Can someone please res me, you can find me on Automap.
* Once you have your fame to max use your sacrifice! Once you get to the level of Knight of sacrifice you can self res up to 3 times a week. Great when you are in the middle of fel and no one can get to you.
* try the newbie champ spawn. You will get crafting PSs if you do enough damage on the champ and it is usally pretty easy to get a gang of new players together to tackle it.
* read the wiki. There is some great customs on this shard like bio engineering, ointments, pet breeding etc. The is a wealth of info on the wiki and it will help immensly in your game play.
* There is another malas called magda wwhere the is a load of empty space for housing. There is options to place houses together and get other houses and there is nothing worse than being limited to how big you can grow cause you chose a spot already crowded.
* Take the time to check out the youth centre. There is some nice runebooks on top of it plus loads of info on how to gain skills etc.
* check out [exex. The newest thing in trading atm. You can place intems on there using the exex boxes in brit, TC and trinsic, as well as gold and checks. Helps alot with trading.
* Dont be afraid to ask for help! This is a great shard as the majority of people on here will trip over themselves to help you. Personally I wouldnt stand at brit bank saying, "hey can you give me 50k for a house". That will likely get you ignored. However saying to someone, I really need to make some cash, can you show me a good place to go will almost always result in someone showing you a good place to hunt.
This is all i can think of off the top of my head. Please feel free to add to this if needed
Hope this helps

What exactly are "organics" and how does that system work?
I have a few more questions if this one gets answered.

they are used for bioengineering which i believe you need 100 taming and tinkering to start messing with. there's a whole thing in the wiki/codex about it.
