Suggest to add salvage bag / similar function.

Post by Sorceress Adel »

I was doing some crafting today, which I think is my third day here on the shard and it's been nothing but wonderful except for the army of "New Player"'s that I meet every day lol.

I had in the past used a bag that was sold by a provisioner for around 2000 gold i think called a "Salvage Bag" it let you take a bag full of stuff and deal with all of it with a context menu. I can't quite remember its functions entirely, but I used it for crafting lots of clothes and stuff into it then when i needed to I would use the context menu to cut all the stuff down back into cloth so I could continue making more items until I ran out.

Today I paged a GM since nobody had any idea what I was talking about, so I looked up the name and brought this suggestion to the boards so we might consider adding it to the already wonderful systems.

You could macro that into easy uo or razor. I see how it would be useful but that would be taking a lot out of crafting imho.

most crafting skills you can recycle the item either by chopping or smelting things back. is that what your asking? check the tool.

There is an actual board dedicated to feature requests on the forums.

That's where posts like this go...

I could be wrong but what i think he wants is. a container that will let you mass chop/smelt/recycle items. Say you get 9 boards from a chest that you crafted if you put 10 chests in this recycler you get 90 boards back instead of doing them 1x1. This was my understanding though and results may vary from a different pov.

wow that would be cool. but when making a macro i always put in a chop or recycle. so it automatically does it quickly.

I believe also the shards that use the salvage bag-one thing it does is also give you back one extra ingot more than if you smelted it the old fashioned way(if smelting a sword gives you 2 ingots-using the bag would give you 3-but would be an awesome thing whether you got that feature or not.

This is something that was added to the official OSI shards back in 2007. The "extra ingot" (whether you get it or not) is based on your mining skill. Tailoring doesn't give you back extra cloth or leather, unfortunately.

It would be nice, but really you can write a razor macro that will recycle 100 items in a couple of minutes, so it's no real big deal either way.. You just don't get the extra ingot. :)
