Excelsior Poster

Post by Birko »

I've made an Excelsior poster map. I've always found it easier to use a grid reference rather than sextant co-ordinates. It's also a good way of organising a rune library. Once I've had some feedback and finished tweaking it, we could release it onto the wider interwebs as a way of promoting the shard.

This gives an idea of the size and is tiled out of six A3 sheets :

Large Size 6.2Mb

If anyone wants it, I can provide it as six individual A3 PDFs ready for printing.

Looks awesome.
Shows some of the unique features of this shard.
One of those will look great on the wall beside my PC.
Cheers, :dance

PS: Are you able to show player houses on the map (by logging through UOAM maybe)?

I'm going to make some changes as I've left bronze off the ingot chart.
Let me know if you want anything else added or changed.

Yes indeed, a very nice map. I like to use a map in combination with Razor Positioning system. I'll be using this map from now on. Thank you very much.

Not sure if anyone else caught this but the dungeon is spelled Deceit, not Deceipt. Just a minor typo on an awesome map. :)

Also - since it's a map of Trammel, I'd remove (or add a note) Blighted grove, which is accessible only in Felucca. Perhaps you could do a modified map for Fel with the champ locations and notable monsters as well as points of interest (Umbris, Sgail etc.)

And again also - the location of the Heartwood Moongate would be a nice addition.

Thanks Ilsanor. Keep it coming. I'll try to get revises made asap.
Doing a Fel version is further down the track as I'd end up as a ghost if I ran around there now. (Which actually may be a good way to reconnoitre)
I'll try to do the other regions first.

Where is the Heartwood Moongate? I assumed that there wasn't one when I went to Yew, as it's the location for the OSI ones.
Thanks for your help,
Birko.

The Heartwood Moongate is at 54*29'N 66*18'W or 380,1004 game coords. Or directly west of Yew, directly south of Brit Prison.

A tip for ghost scouting - if you kill yourself (for example via casting a damage spell on yourself) you keep all you items in your pack. Nothing gets dropped onto the body. That way you can run around as a ghost without worrying about body decay, while still having all your stuff easily accessible should you decide to rez.

If you need help with finding certain locations I can help you out. I'd say a Fel map would be of more use than Tram even, due to the fact that you can't recall there and there are only a few entrances. Which means you actually have to run to get to places = easy to get lost.

I'll be editing my original post so as to keep a list of things to revise.
Keep checking my OP, and continue suggestions.

I'm making this as a reference map, not as a gameplay guide. Exploration is an important part of this game, so marked locations have to be subtle. Once you visit a location, you should have the gist of the map icons. Or you could become a ghost ;)
