Attention everyone with a vendor!!!
Attention everyone with a vendor!!!
I noticed what is possibly a bug and thought I'd bring it to your attention. If you place a container in front of your vendor (i.e. as a display item) people can help themselves to anything in there. I noticed the vendor next to mine had a bag on display so I wondered if people could take stuff from it. I tried and to my surprise it worked. Obviously I put what I took straight back and pm'ed the owner to warn him but he said he lost 150k worth of stuff and I dont want this to happen to anyone else. There are a few vendors with containers in front of them at MZ so I thought I'd bring this up. I'm gonna page a gm to let them know of the issue but that could take a while since no-one is on.

good looking out.

Yeah, the item in front of the vendor is locked down, but that's it. Nothing gets the "secure" tag, which means anyone can take from containers.

Yep i am aware of that, but they're supposed to be display items, not intended for let's say bags in which you would store things. Maybe I should just add a warning text if you set a container as display item, informing a player that anything they put in there can be taken by anyone.

It's not a bug, it's a neat new feature!
Place a marked rune in the bag so people can recall back whenever they run out of whatever it is that they need. Or put some candy in there ^^

Failure is not an option, it's a standard.
Re: Attention everyone with a vendor!!!
I think some warning text would be a good idea. Like I said the guy next to me had some stuff taken and wasn't aware of the fact that the container is locked down and not secured. I certainly didn't know anything about it.
Re: Attention everyone with a vendor!!!
Why not just block containers from being used there....

geeez, your paying for a vendor not free storage. The area in front of your vendor is to display 1 item. How could you "think" it was free storage??? Its not the games mistake nor problem, suck it up and move on. Accept responsibility for your actions/mistakes people and stop bothering the GMs.
