Selling Animal Taming 120 PS

Post by Arafiel »

Ok, I'm giving up this for someone who knows how to get the most out of it :P Would go to waste with me..

It's not free though ;) Auctions are boring and I got this idea from someone in the game to sell it in here. When I get a decent offer from someone, I will sell the scroll. You can toss me a PM in the game or tell your offer in here as a private message or below this topic.

I'm looking to get at least 2m from it, so don't bother with offers lower than that.

wow, 2 million for a 120 taming power scroll...... you should just be wearing a bright neon sign, "Buy from me, I charge ridiculous prices".

Know wonder why people complain about the economy in this game, it is not hard to figure out. When most people try to keep prices decent to help people out, especially new players, there are always one or two people who come along and try to get rich off of things that aren't really worth it.

but oh well, charge what you want...

I usually sell my 120 taming and lore scrolls for less than 750k a piece and sometimes I just gift them to new players. I do a lot of taming bods and get lots of scrolls as rewards, so I make enough gold to get the things I want. sometimes it just takes a little time.

Games like this are fun and usually quality time spent = the reward you get out of it.

The whole get rich quick just tends to create bad game play...

oh well, i have said enough, i am just rambling on now.

play how you wish and have fun!

Oh man I feel sorry for you, you have been giving them away for too low price.

Why I wouldn't ask a high price if I know it's possible to get? It's away from my gold grinding time if I get money from something that is actually worth something. It would be same for a car salesman to give away cars for 18 year olds since they must have their first car, right? Or sell a Jaguar for 10k euros...

Some things just are money generators and you need money in this game to play it to the fullest. So I will take advantage of those kind of money makers whenever I can.

And remember.. if you have 500m money in the game or if you are able to donate real life money to the shard whenever you need things/money in the game.. it doesn't mean everyone are like you... I need the money -> I sell things that I luckily have for high amount of gold.

One more thing: Animal Taming 120 PS does have a high value. I don't understand why 50% of the shard thinks it should go for 750k and other 50% thinks it can go over 2m easily if not sold to the first poor guy. I think some are still in the past when you were able to get those PS's often. Oh and I do taming bods too, but I generally get bio books from them.

Alot of players that i know hold on their scrolls since the changes made to the champ spawns. They know that there are alot of players that have adopted the role of "Holy Keeper of the Excelsior economy". So they prefer to see the players become desperate enough so they offer to buy at high prices than to ask the actual value and get described as greedy players by them HOLY KEEPERS. How many times have we seen people in world chat ask for a taming scroll without getting an answer? I see it all the time.

In all honesty, from my experience, most of the champ spawns are either done solo or in a duo. Under the new set of rules, each players will get 1 or 2 powerscrolls, when they used to get 6 for the same investment of time. This should greatly lower the availability of scrolls . Before the new champ rules, the 120 taming scrolls would go from 750k to 1.2 mil. I can see, under the new rules, the price of thoses scrolls going up by 3 or 4 times.

This is a free market, prices will go up or down depending of the demand and the availability of the product. When i took a break from the game, 8 months ago, oinments would go for 2k per. They now range from 8 to 10. It's funny, I don't see much of the "Holy Keepers" spam that they sell oinments at 2k per because they want the economy of the shard to stay under control.

IMO, 2 mil is far from being overpriced for a 120 taming. Also, this is a deluxe item that is absolutely not needed to be able to be a tamer in the game, 110 being more than enough. So to the Holy Keepers of the economy of Excelsior, I say, if you don't like the price of an item, you don't need to buy it, but why oh why would you pass a judgment or a commentary that is unasked for towards the player who is selling?

I am a merchant in the game, and I try to price correctly the items I sell. But the problem I have with the HOLY KEEPERS attitude, is the accusative tone they take. I realize that it affects my tone as well, wich can probably be qualified of "defensive". Theses are the kind of sentences that are offensive to me and lack the respect I would like to read when I read theses boards:

"ridiculous"
"it is not hard to figure out"
"aren't really worth it"
"charge what you want..."
"bad game play..."

That's my opinion,

Have a great day all,

I will pm you after the weekend, I'm not home friday-sunday. Others can still leave their offers here, selling to the highest bidder.

You can try and sell something at any price you want. Just don't be surprised when you only get a couple of offers.
Don't be feeling sorry for someone who chooses not to overcharge(as they see it) for something. Not to mention people remember people who do them a kindness by such things, and those who do not. You never know when you might really need something and the only person who has it is the same person who might have just given it before but now will make you pay through the nose for it. Then again some will also do whatever they would have before no matter how another acts. I breed pets, not for sale. Someone in another thread says he fails and gets sterile babies so now he's charging 500k for his. From his post I have bred far more mules and never had a sterile baby. I don't need them but even if I did I would not pay 500k for one supposed maxed mule. To me they aren't worth it, to him now they are.

As for this Holy Keepers, I suppose some could try and include me in that. I seem to recall Fingers some statements you've also made in game that would put you into the same holy keepers group. Me, I just hate seeing people get ripped off or someone trying to purposely misinform someone. When someone asks the going rate I state what I know it to be and give a range like uni dye tubs 100-200k. Someone wants to try and charge 300k that's one thing, but if they try to sucker someone into thinking the average is 300k I'll mention it. Nothing wrong with trying to keep prices from going up just to go up as some of them are. With ointments, I see no reason for them to go up as I still get them as often as before but I don't buy/sell them.

I have to agree with ploar bear / Fingers on most of what he said... what i comes down to, is that its a free market. Personally I do without a LOT of things I would like, ointments being one of them, organics is another.. in only a few months prices have gone up over 500%.. just because people are willing to pay it.. as you can see, even at 2 mil someone is willing to buy, so guess that wasnt really all that silly of a price was it?
As long as someone is willing to pay a "little" more prices will go up, and keep going up... but, like Fingers said, if you don't like the price then you really dont need to buy it.
If you think that price is high, stand by. Prices on scrolls are going to keep going up as they get rarer. the thing I don't really get, is the prices on Oints and Organics, even ED is going up.. why? its not like any of those things are rarer now than they were 8 months ago... Even the price of Iron is around 15 now.. is it harder to get and rarer than it was? No, people were willing to pay that for it so the price went up. I used to pay ten ea for iron. eventually I had to start paying 12 for it... when no one would sell tome at 12 I just plain quit buying, same iwth organics and ointments.. i don't buy them anymore. It would be NICE to get them, I could sure use both, but.. again, as Fingers said...
I think the price is stupid, so obvioously i don't need them...

I can only say, if you havent gotten a sterile baby, your mules arent very high level, or you dont breed very many since you only breed for yourself??? then again, it might just be my famous luck kicking in....

43/10. Multiple ones both male and female(Enough mules so I had to first have one chest each of male and female then switch to armorie's because chests can't hold 125 but I also have some most of all of them still). Same With Cu's. I was going to get back to working up some f. ostards and start giant beetles to donate to new players(I personally like pets with backpacks) so perhaps there will be a difference there. My biggest problem is getting to males or females. I don't know why it seems so weird. I really wish it weren't. I know it's the same for others on both sides. Though now I expect I will have several sets of sterile ones. My luck has never been over 800 when breeding, my taming is only 110 max and lore is I think 110 or 115. Sorry, didn't mean to digress this thread just like I said because of this to me mules aren't worth 500k nor a 120 taming worth 1m+. What is over 110 that should interest me that I need one right now. It becomes a status piece and I already have managed to get an island and castle to feed my vanity such as it is.

Yes a free market. I just think some people who go for the one big sell don't think far enough ahead. Also watch the auctions, once the price gets past a point it's only the same fue 4-5 people. I always hear how easy it is to make massive amounts of money. Usually from one of these same people. However when some of them talk about how hard it is to get something like grizzle bones they talk about what 2-6 hrs of trying. Not everyone has that time. I've seen a couple of them in much longer then that daily. One of them I used to always run into run into wile resource gathering or feeding their pets balrons. Though the funny thing is she never did have anything to say or even bother to move. In other words older players should try to remember how it's like for a newer player. Hardcore players should remember not everyone sets up the same way or uses the same scripts or stays on as long just hunting for the big ticket items. Newer players should worry about getting the best of everything because you don't always need it.
