new pet/quest - a pegasus
A pegasus would make an interesting high end pet. It could have have the ability to go over water (it does fly after all) and be a very, very strong creature compared to nobles, max mules, and max cu's, but be non-breedable. But since it would be so strong, but not as strong as a good bio, a quest could be created to be able to get them. This would also keep the shard from being saturated with them. The quest could be along the lines of the Inquisition quest where items have to be collected. You would then take the items and create a special harness using tinkering and tailoring. The Harness would have one use and give someone a 25% chance to tame the pegasus (at 120 taming/lore) after which the harness would be destroyed. This quest would also give a good excuse to create new spawn in areas that are currently empty. Graphics for pegasus have already been created for use in the uo client so that part wouldn't be too much of a problem. The pegasus could also be non transferable so that if people want one, they will have no choice but to work for one (something tells me this part won't be very popular).

I dunno, I'd just as soon not have huge drawn out quests with ridiculous drop rates for stuff that isn't that great.

What part would you consider not that great? The main object to me is to give people an alternative to bios. It would not have to be as drawn out as Inquisition quest. Be about as long as getting 1 gem. Just instead of gem you use skills to create a harness.Harabakc wrote:I dunno, I'd just as soon not have huge drawn out quests with ridiculous drop rates for stuff that isn't that great.

OMG! While the Pegasus addition to Ultima Online would be very very RIGHTEOUS!!!! In reality, the graphics don't exist for the creature... It would be a really really awesome creature of course, with capabilites beyond that in any shard on the entire internet! Though would be totally, totally difficult to pull off... *sigh* lol
Re: new pet/quest - a pegasus
Well if we had the graphics I would love to put it in, but it would probably be as a special mount, something rare or with special ability, not just the uber hyper strong monster that can kill anything.
We do have an alternative to bioengineering - animal breeding. So next time something is added, it will be something to bring melee to equality with saying "all kill".

Re: new pet/quest - a pegasus
I was looking around on runuo forums and people have created graphics for the pegasus. Not sure how good they are really though. I do agree that it would need to be a rare monster, hence the quest to be able to tame one. The quest would also keep people from easily farming them. The being able to fly over water ability would be great for it considering it does fly. I know i would personally use it just for that reason because i solo in fel a lot and the boat can be annoying at times. By being an alternative to bio I just meant hp wise.
