Yeah I screwed something up trying to go from 4a to 4b as well. I just downloaded the entire client and made a fresh install and all was well.

So, I had to do the full client re-install too. Is it safe to delete the old client directory and all the associated files now?

Not working for me either. I guess I will have to uninstall and reinstall. That's about the only thing I haven't tried.

It seems there's an issue with the download for the differential patch - I've let +C know and hopefully he can get a working version uploaded today. In the mean time, here's a link to the differential patch that I am using and that works:

Not sure how many downloads it'll allow in a day but this should hold some of you over till +C can repair the download on the uoex site.

This one works. Just to note, the difference in size between this download and the original booster is about 63MB.

Yeah, and what's odd is that the files are all the same size when comparing the two side by side. Probably just a matter of how each one was zipped up, more compression perhaps. *shrug*
I've no idea why the one from the site isn't working properly, perhaps one of the map files is partially corrupted, who knows.

Weird. After so many folks were saying it didn't work for them, I downloaded it and tested it on my second system and had the same problem. Since I know I'm installing it correctly (having had to 'patch' my client hundreds of times during the patch creation process to test how items looked in game & such), then there's definitely something amiss with it. Hawke, did you go to Ilshenar to see if anything looks odd? Most folks having the trouble can see the items in the patch test room just fine, but then Ilshenar is all screwy. Missing walls, trees, can't enter dungeons etc. I tested it at Gargoyle city - nothing had walls.

I haven't heard back from +C yet, so I'm not sure what's up with it. I didn't put the zip files together for the site, and have no way to check them serverside. We'll see what he says, but for folks having trouble there's the dropbox link in the mean time.

I just installed over the top of it.

You might want to copy out or save the directory named 'Desktop' as that's the one that stores your screen layout and UO macro's for each character.

What i did was install the full client on desktop and copy everything except the desktop folder to the UO directory and override. Worked for me.

After I patched I went to Town Center to check things out and I saw what I was supposed to see. Logged off went to bed. Come back today and try to go hunt in Ilshenar. No go. Cannot access any dungeon in Ilsh except Ankh and that is because somehow I slipped into a dark patch and could teleport into it, but the dungeon had no walls. Anyways, I will retry patch later but got to run. Posted this in case anyone else is having trouble with Ilshenar.
