July Destash Raffle

The June Destash Raffle is now open.

As this is the second raffle, tickets from the previous raffle have carried over. The previous winner's tickets have been wiped.

We are beginning this raffle with 1192 tickets carried over. The new goal - which must be reached in order to unlock the displayed grand prize - is 2000 tickets.

This raffle will run until August 4th. Once the raffle ends, the building will be closed until I have made the drawing and reset the chests.

There will be a participation reward for players submitting 3+ tickets during this raffle. Please note that if you have tickets which carried over from the previous raffle, this does not count toward the required 3 tickets.

If we go over the goal of 2000 tickets, I will improve the participation reward as well as the grand prize.


Beginning with this raffle, I have removed the BOD items (with the exception of dip tubs) from the list of accepted items. This is because players are abusing their ability to gather and fill BODs while AFK in order to submit massive numbers of tickets. I feel that this is a form of cheating, and since we are not permitted to punish these players for AFK profiting, I am removing their ability to use these items for the raffle.

why cant these players be punished for afk profiting? I thought that was the rules?

+C does not feel that BOD gathering/filling counts toward our rules against AFK profiting.

I guess I'll go back to trashing all the bod rewards I don't have any room for. I'm not computer savvy enough to write scripts or whatever to afk fill them but there is always someone trying to thwart the system. I am glad I was able to get rid off all the stain of durability bottles I had piled up! :)

They aren't trying to thwart the system if it's sanctioned by the server owner. Then it IS the system. But personally I wouldn't have just assumed that by extension it was okay to use the rewards in the raffle too, I would have asked.

I would strongly prefer that AFK BOD'ing be considered a violation of the codex, but until/if ever that happens, eliminating the items from the raffle is really the only way I can be sure people aren't doing things I consider cheating in order to obtain their tickets. I could just ban the offender(s) from the raffle all together, but then every raffle I'd still have to go and check the submitted items to make sure someone -else- hadn't started doing the same thing. It'd just be too much hassle and it would make me lose interest in holding the raffles at all, so I went this route.

But some player are selling BoD so they are making profit, logically afk gathering those its afk gathering gold... just saying ...

I totally agree, but it's not my decision, so for the time being this is the best solution :/

and see that is what I thought when it came to collecting and filling bods, cause u do get gold, but if +C feels otherwise I respect his decision I just wanted clarification as to why those players could not be punished so thanks.

I'd support AFK BOD gathering/filling being added to the 'naughty' list. Fingers crossed it happens one day. :)

I never knew that Filling BOD's AFK wasn't Against Shard rules ... I assumed it fell under the same premis as the flax gathering and making cloth and such when that rule went into effect ... I support the change until / if ever the official rules get changed on the subject.

Maybe enter an afk like check when collecting BODs.
