I mentioned this two years ago, and again a year ago, and want to bring it up again.. spent a long time mining so i can do smithing bods.. of a dozen bods turned in that the reward can be mining or smithing gear/clothing, every one that yielded the gear, was a gorget.. so now I have several +3 gorgets..
the last time I mentioned it Coli, you tested it and said that it did seem like the script was not randomizing. Is there nothing that can be done so that the reward is random?

20 verite metal shield - +3 gorget of mining
20 verite buckler = +3 gorget of blacksmithing
20 verite plate gloves = +3 gorget of Blacksmithing
20 verite chain tunic = +3 gorget of mining
20 verite metal kite shield = +3 gorget of blacksmithing
20 verite tear kite shield = +3 gorget of Blacksmithing
and last but not least.. 20 verite ring sleeves = +3 gorget of mining.......

You know I wondered about this myself, thought it was just my bad luck and gave up doing bods until I felt like being abused again.
The fletching bods were equally as painful, now what is confusing me in this problem and why I thought it was just bad luck is I know other people doing bods and they get normal random results.

Just did a 20 verite chain leg bod and got a +3 gorget of smithing...
I mine often, I like mining... but, I do not sell ingots. I buy them when I find a vendor selling them though.. I usually buy everything they have, and return often to check them for restock... they usually either start cranking prices up through the roof... so I quit buying from them,,,,, OR, they just quit trying to restock their vendor... iron is worth 20 Ea.. about 2 gold over what the NPC's sell iron for.. other ingots go up from there.. up to around 80 ea for plat ingots.. Ores do not rotate here, so NO ingot will EVER be worth more than that.. any person can hit a specific spot again and again to find that type ingot every time..

However... it is just not worth it to keep doing this while the rewards are not random. there is NO point in mining, or smithing..
If you want to sell armor, you MUST use plat runics and plat ingots.. nothing else will sell. To make it worse.. about 4 pieces in 20 that you make with the plat hammer will actually sell in any two or three week period.. I know, I've smelted a LOT of pieces... Even when you have legendary skill, the results are still based on luck so you have to expect to make a lot of P00... Even this can be worked around... except that, if you try to charge more than about 10K per piece people yell at you and call you a thief...

I also play on a shard where there are no runics, you get 50K per piece of Val plate... its a piece of metal with NO enhancements on it at all.. and the price makes it worth building.... to top it off... even shadow plate fetches 10K a piece... i havent played there long enough to see if bods are random or not... but my point is... the only thing that really makes smithing worthwhile here on Excel, is the rewards.. plus 3 and plus 5 gear along with some of the other items, decos and fort powder.... I trash two to three hundred reward items per sitting.. which is OK if I can make up the difference on the good rewards.. like a complete set of plus 3 gear or even more valuable.. a complete set of plus 5 gear.... problem is as stated... I only get one item type per type of bod....

Probably worth mentioning, its not just blacksmithing bods; I've only done some low level carpentry and fletching bods, but of ALL the +1 gear i get its either caps from carpentry (carp and lumberjack caps) and sleeves from fletching (fletching and lumberjack), i've done enough of them to rule out coincidence, but people keep telling me its just an unlucky streak. Given that this topic has risen, im certain that's not the case and something defiantly is wrong

KnitePrince, what is your characters name in game? Is it KnitePrince? I was wondering because a friend of mine recently started playing here and he loves to mine and is looking for business. He had a vendor at my shop but took him down because noone was buying anything and he didn't have the money for the vendor's upkeep. I also mine here and there and will soon begin to have a surplus of metals. Hopefully we can begin a business relationship in the future.

PM me in game and i will have the wife set up a vendor for you at no cost. that way i can buy your ingots, and if for some reason I dont get on for a day or two someone else might scarf them up. Yes, i am Kniteprince in game as well. I use another char to mine named Collen just so i dont have to switch between smithing and mining gear

I am at an impasse....
with the difficulty of breeding..
I mean failing to breed gen 3 pets half a dozen times is just painful.(and these arent back bred gen 3's they are First round Gen 3's so nowhere even CLOSE to max)
once I may have had two or three days between having something on my vendor, but with the constant fail, I am now looking at about two weeks or MORE as I backbreed through the line again to get something to sell... makes it obvious that the attempt to phase breeding out of popularity is in full swing, and I can only assume out of existence in the future.. so this is why I have tried turning back to my roots.. Smithing..
If I can mine, and Smith, and make a living.. I can still be happy...
Missing fingers, and broken up hands limit me on what I can fight.. I have done champs, but if things get hairy I AM going to die.. General hunting is fine, but when I am required to move fast, type fast, or heal fast, I can't do it.. My Character hasn't killed anything in close to a year.. don't even enjoy hunting... do enjoy breeding pets, and smithing... one of the reasons is slowly being phased out... If my pets were worth 650K like they used to be.. then breeding might be worthwhile... will set the stock back in the corner and see if prices start coming up again or not..
On the other side, the smithing... Still hoping something can be done to randomize the drops..
