Skill leveling guide using macros

First off this guide is entended for all new player and some older ones new to the shard. I myself am new being here for about 3 months now, but i feel i have learned alot and want to spread my knowledge to whom ever desires it!

Here we go...

Here is a list of the skills that you can raise by using macros;

Animal lore
Arms lore
Chivalry
Detecting hidden
Evaluating intelligence
Focus
Hiding
Item identification
Magery
Meditation
Musicianship
Necromancy
Peacemaking
Resisting spell
Spirit speak
Stealing
Taste identification

To create a macro, simply open your paperdoll and select the option button, then go to macro and start creating.

Select ADD and then click in the hotkey region and press the key you want your macro to work with, after that you can choose between ALT, SHIFT, CTRL, this will anable more than one macro to each key. (note that you dont have to select one)
Time to make your macro,
Select the first scroll menu and hold left click, then scroll down to choose the action you want, then if needed a second scroll menu will appear, usualy used for «LAST TARGET» action.

To raise Animal lore; macro «LAST SKILL» «LAST TARGET» and use it on a pet you own that you will command to STAY.
To raise Arms lore; macro «LAST SKILL» «LAST TARGET» and use it on a weapon in your backpack.
To raise Chivalry; macro «LAST SPELL» and «LAST SPELL» «LAST TARGET» you will need one or the other depending on the skill you are using. Has your skill will progress you will have to change the spell you are casting. When you reach for exemple 35, start to cast DISPEL EVIL, at 65, cast NOBLE SACRIFICE.

The same principal can be used for the rest of the list, some skill will only require you to make a «LAST TARGET» or «LAST SPELL» macro, some will require targeting.

Also, when i did level my skills this way, i had some problems with a few macro and had to use the «SAY» «[c feeblemind» macro

For the Hiding and Peacemaking skills, i went to Delucia and stood in the mages hutt and macroed «LAST SKILL» «LAST TARGET» on myself, worked like a charm.

Finaly, to get your macro to work in a loop, simply place a weight on your hotkey and voila!
( i use the F8 key)

I will add more skills if i find other ways to raise them by macroing.

Good luck to all.

P.S.: Feel free to add or comment if you have seen any errors or missing elements

I prefer to refer to those as "hotkeys" even though the game labels them as macros. To me a macro is something you set up in Razor or Easy UO to run a loop.

When it comes to hotkeys, some of the most useful in my opinion are :

last object -> last target - very useful for repetitive actions like mining, fishing, and LJ, saves you from dbl clicking the tool and targeting every time

[cs touchoflife - the cleric uber heal

[bandself - uses a bandage on you

Use skill commands - use skill -> (hiding, peacemaking, discordance, animal taming, etc.)

pet commands - say -> (all kill, all guard, all stop, etc.)

and of course, the big one that many people forget: [claim

Thanks for mentioning that, Mojo. I've played UO off and on over the years, but never learned some of these basic commands, ha. Razor will not work on my computer correctly, nor would the bandageself macro when set up in options. Was getting ready to throw in the towel, but UO Loop and the appropriate commands make things bearable. Barely, haha.

After a lot of frustrating tries i have found a way to macro or use hotkeys for applying bandages.

Target self
Use bandage
Last target

Dont ask me why but it worked and was able to make a hotkey that way, i dont use it anymore, thanks to the heal script but still... it works
