UOAM is not working for me

So, I wanted to go to Felucca, but I didn't want to get lost and die, so I wanted to get UOAM first. The problem is that when I try to start it, I get this:



So, I can't even get as far as the actual program. I downloaded from http://uoex.net/codex/technical/uoam like how I'm supposed to, as far as I know. I tried running as administrator, nothing worked. I also tried looking for solutions, but it looks like most peoples' problems come after they actually start the program, and can't get the mapping to work.

I used to have it working on this computer, but I uninstalled it a while ago because I wasn't sure when I'd play UO next, and now it's just not working at all.

Because that screen is popping up, leads me to believe you aree still trying to use the unupdatable version of it

Try that to dl the uoam....Before you dl that, REMOVE YOUR current version, and all downloads you have for that.
Then reinstall or just unzip however it works. You might need to set it to run in windows xp compatability mode, and if uo and razor are run as admin, you might need to run it with admin priveledges as well. Then once you do that, You might see all black.

If you do, do not fear.

Click on "Maps" Then Find the menu that says "UO Client Data Files Location" There you must set the path to the folder the the uo excelsior client is located in.


Once in awhile sometimes when you login, You have to set which facet you are on. BUt once you get it to that facet the first time you shouldnt have any problems with it when going to other facets. Usually i noticed it just happens when you login and open it.

Thank you very much, that worked for me. Don't really understand why they'd have the unupdated version of UOAM on their own site, though.

I think you to the same auotmap the codex shows you, But i think it put it in the same spot as the other one so you kept trying to use the old one that was already in place


Glad you got it working, I think i am going to write a wiki on it at some point.

Well after all this I took a few minutes and quickly threw up a Wiki secion for installing UOAM for anyone ever having problems in the Future!

Hi, I post it here because I didnt want to make a new thread for nothing. Uoam doesnt work in the sense that it doesnt display the right location... I downloaded the one linked in the ex wiki so should be the right one, now i enter the right facet then i enter the file location. Before file location it was black, now it is blue pointing to the water... i teleport anywhere it doesnt follow me...

Try selecting the facet you are on when you start it up. should fix it. if not, you might have tried to calibrate it when not in the right spot, try sitting on Lord British's Throne and re calibrate. Might work.

Yes you need a very specific version of the client for things to work ... and you need a propperly patched reg file to make razor find your install of the client ... I am in the process now of making avl a full copy of the client ( already patched ) that will fully support in 2d this shard ... I will make it available shortly and it can be linked here for anyone to get as needed.

If you have a web host it would be nice to host a mirror of the file to to help those who want to come and play be able to get on easiear ...

(and i know the file with patch and reg edit file all work correctly as i had my brother try it on a win 7 system )
