If I bring both Male and Female to the Breeder:

1) Can I even breed the pets (Wiki suggest hire a friend(?))
2) Will I get to Deeds?

First your pets need to be breedable, which means they need to be at least level 10, at most level 42 and have at least one remaining breeding slot (when shrunk it should say "can mate X times").

When you breed two pets, the owner of each pet get a deed for the baby (so you get two if you own both pets).

To breed them they need to be controlled by someone (so they can't be shrunk in your backpack) but some pet needs three or more slot to be control (like dragons or cu sidhe). To breed those pets, you need to bring a friend who will claim one of the pets. But if you can control both pet at the same time then you can breed them on your own.

Hope that helps,
Mauris

i took 2 mules to max and im on 4th day on breeding process (constantly i receive failed message). I think it takes another 10 day to success.
im wrote this cause, you need patience on breeding.

pet's need to be between gen 1-10, and level 1-41, and they have to be able to breed. most mules/nobles/animals you buy off a vendor are probably not able to breed.

Thank you this is indeed the clarification I was looking for.

I will be testing Breeding out on a pair of Level 1 Nightmares (a male and a female) and I have a fairly well developed Nightmare (I am sure all resists are 75 with fairly high str and hp's) that I do believe can mate 2 more times.

Nightmares only require 2 control slots.

Again, thank you for the clarification.

suggestion:

i wouldn't max out their resist on breeding. by breeding them the resist goes up automatically. i'd work on stuff like hps first, then stamina. max resist on later gen's and levels, last do the armor.

just a suggestion.

@anarchy, thanks, I was thinking more or less along the wiki's "Back Breeding" thing, I was going to focus on the other twos Str and Hp, but I will do what your suggesting as I am still a bit confused by Stamina vs Dex, Mana vs Int.

In osi.uo, the Dex is Stamina and Int is Mana, I kind of intuit that for some reason these stats have been separated from each other. Which makes me insecure as to just how much stamina the pet needs vs just how much str is neded. If nothing else has changed with this shard, I do believe dex effects both Parry/Block and Attack Speed, I am totally unaware of anything Stamina effects other than what I hope is obvious, fatigue.

Mana vs Int is less problematic as the only thing I am aware of that Int effects is MindBlast and Paralyze. So it would only matter to encounters were those spells were being cast. On the other hand Mana for a Casting Pet is always used.

we used to mindblast our pets for mana. lol but stamina does help a lot. reese did some testing awhile back and found out that dex and stamina helps the pet's swing speed i guess you'd call it. when breeding those are the two main important things to bring up first. resist will eventually max itself out or only need a few points by gen 10 level 42.

For anyone that reads this for information, I found out that, at least failure, puts your pet into a statue mode and down for 12 hours, so I assume the best time to breed them is when your not going to use them.

He he, ok, explain yourself for me and anyone else that may read this that is 100% clueless as to what your saying. :?

As it turns out Dragons was what I was trying to breed, when it so kindly informed that Highly Dangerous Animals are hard to get to breed.

seeing that dragon's are kind of a pain to tame. you can breed them for animal taming bods though and maybe start a business.

A little ambition goes a long way. If it looks profitable, give it a shot.

So what happens here, the Dragons themselves get sold to a BoD addict, then they do something with it?

If so, then what is a fair price for a Dragon, and a White Wyrm?
