Hardest LBOD Reward

I finally acquired all the parts to finish a Large, 20 count, exceptional, platinum platemail BoD. Suited up with the blacksmithing gear and chew threw around 2k plat ingots filling the order. The moment of truth... I turn it in and what do I get? A 126 use platinum hammer and a check for around 250k! What the crap is that?! Is it really too much to ask for to have the sharpening blade almost guaranteed for turning in a BoD of THAT caliber? I could have gotten a runic hammer with that many uses killing the plat eles alot faster. What a colossal let down! That sort of crap really makes me never want to turn in another BoD ever.

Definitely the lesser of the two. But the plat hammer is the best one there is and really should be more valuable/rare than it is.

I think it is the ele's dropping the hammer that actually cheapens it really.

I agree that the ease with obtaining the plat hammers does indeed cheapen them. They are hardly worthy rewards for a LBoD of this level. To be able to obtain all of the pieces to complete this LBoD, I had to purchase at various auctions over the last several months deeds to choose my own BoD. 4 of them to be exact. I have been playing on the shard for over a year trying unsuccessfully to get these BoDs. What a waste of time, effort, resources and gold/tokens.

I agree with calan entirely on this one. I have even finished a few larges in few different colours and only seem to get crap thats not even worth it to the point i could sell to a vendor and just as much. I have been here for over a year also and still have not been able to put together the large platinum ones i need including buying a few of them bods from other. And it doesnt seem to matter what skill you are in smith when you get bods. I ahve been 168 smith and tried to get bods and 4 times in a row regularly i get iron weapon bods 10 axe 15 axe 10 spear 15 shield etc... i think out of all the times i ever have gotten a bod i have only received maybe 3 platinum ones in over a year? wow what a crock to find out out that what i am striving for will only get me more bloody hammers. I could care less if i get another iron bod and think the bod system should be skill dependant.

Yep, thatd be my luck as well.. the only difference is, I KNOW how bad mt luck is, so I plan on it that way and every so often am pleasantly surprised. I am also over a year, and still collecting plat bods, i wont buy one at auction or otherwise becaue i am too cheap... also because i know i will get the plat runic lol...
Bods are more or less for the collector. getting a colored forge of every color, etc etc, all just to show off. once in a while something really nice. Bod rewards are 90% junk, and there are many colors I wont even do, they build up in my books and collect dust. Would be nice to change some of those rewards... even a ONE use sharpening blade for a small plat bod?? A forge for your house that gives you a "bonus" to the amount of ingots? oh there are dozens of things i could think of. Even the mining clothing, if uses were added to it. Give me a tunic of mining with 100 uses that adds plus 6 to mining... hmm, maybe not, I'd just hang that on the wall afraid to waste it.. lol.. there are a lot of things that could probably be done to "spice up" the rewards.. I quit doing taming bods when i struggled for three days to fill a large bod, and got a mounted pixie what a horrible thing... tinkerbell on the wall.....
