ROFL^^^^^^

HACKSAW
It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.

I log in from time to time to buy raffle tickets lol... thats about it. Usually any connection I have is so slow I can't play.
Plus I have a baby now and he takes up too much of my videogame time... until I train him to be a super efficient macro monkey for me and I can start lvl 100ing weps in 4 days flat again...
I honestly wish i could play a bit more, hopefully in the future I can.
Until then, I'll still trawl the forums vainly looking for posts about me =P

Re: Additional Staff
oooh, Shiny teeths!!! hmm, shiny BITING teeth!
In my experience.. more staff usually causes conflict WITHIN the staff.. that is not normally seen by players.. More staff would be fine.. but, in reality, a couple of subordinates is all that is needed. Councilors that can help unstick someone.. verify situations beyond their control and move the important ones forward to be dealt with by GM or higher etc.. Of a dozen different staff members.. I have only ever found three that were not corruptible..
The "NICE" guy everyone wants to vote for, is usually NOT the best choice, because he IS a nice guy, and often gives in to the whining or yelling when he shouldn't. He WANTS to help, and that often (almost always) leads to helping a little too much..
IF.. players KNOW who a staff members character is.. they will get no rest, and no time to play and relax, and will OFTEN use said friendship for..... benefits...
Getting a staff position.. in most cases means that NO ONE (Except other staff) could know who your player was...
I don't know how Coli has his staff positions set up.. IE; What powers they have available.. but if they are anywhere near normal.. just a couple Counselors might help ease situations during times main staff could not be available???
No, they probably couldnt sink houses, they dont have access to the Area Interface where base house command, probably couldnt redeem deeds etc.. but they COULD help avert other situations, removing the more mundane problems from the higher level staff members worry list, so those staffers could concentrate more fully on the important goodness of the shard..
BUT.. having said that.. most people are not happy, or content being a Semi/demi god, and are always begging for more!! More Powah!
I once had a staffer turn EVERY item in the game to a spawner with a global command.. "EVERY" item... The ability, and EASE with which a staff member COULD screw up the game is very high.. On accident.. or, if angered.. on purpose.. so asking for more staff has serious consequences, and is not something to be taken lightly, or be done by a player base type vote.
For most.. in my past experience.. Once they learn they cant do 90% of the things they wanted to, and are required to watch and wait for hours with little reward.... well, becoming staff loses its appeal.. Looks glorious from the perspective as a player, but its not as much fun from the other side.
Play, be happy, Donate!

Re: Additional Staff
I agree on this one, would like to be a "mini"-staffer myself just to be able to help people, yet I still have a lot to learn about UO and from this shardKnitePrince1 wrote: I don't know how Coli has his staff positions set up..
