This. With the reduction of vendors at TC and the vendors site, and possibly even the ability to rent world teleporter spots, the instant buy/sell gratification and significantly lower prices stemming from that would be destined to end. I'm a mid-level player and the value of items like worthwhile 120 scrolls, etc. affect my overall level of gold in a much more significant way compared to veterans. I don't have the cashflow to keep high priced items on vendors for extended periods of time, therefore I have used the vendors site to rapidly undersell scrolls and other items like that. I have heard a lot of people talk about how the vendors site keeps players from getting ripped off. While it's a valid point, it also prevents people from using their own judgment to determine what an item is worth to them. When you see various 120s fluctuate by as much as a couple hundred k over the span of a couple hours or a day or two simply based on what people are selling them for on the vendors site, it provides an "all knowing" aspect to competition that causes rapid deflation like Locke mentioned. Not to mention it also has the potential to greatly aid wealthier players to buy up cheaply priced scrolls and re-sell them, cornering the market. If those players had to physically go around and 1) find vendors because places like TC and Shops on the teleporter didn't exist and 2) had to check each vendor because there wasn't some all knowing website showing exactly what each vendor had, where, and for how much, it would dramatically slow the market down, which would in turn slow the rate of deflation down. Gold farming is an entirely different aspect and I've never been wealthy enough, nor have I played long enough to determine ways to curb that.+Nyx wrote: A huge part of UO's charm for me has always been hunting through vendors manually for that perfectly priced item)

Good point, I've seen a lot of people post about the bag of holding, though actually, when I started on Excelsior I'd bring 5 mules. I'd fill them up (around 500k) then leave. I'd dump the gold, buy another skull (back then they were 90k) and jump back into the gauntlet with only about 5 minutes of my time spent on dumping the gold. Ever since I hit the level of playing where I have enough gold and ed's to get a bag of holding, farming places like the gauntlet really hasn't been worth my time anymore.Lincolnas wrote:The problem is the Large bag of holding gold farmers.
