Diseased Gorilla Hunting Event
Diseased Gorilla Hunting Event
Hello Excelsior!
We have tracked some diseased gorillas to their breeding grounds. A portal has been opened near the Vesper World Teleporter to allow you access.
This event will last for approximately 3 days. It will end on November 6th around 6:30 shard time. That's around Tuesday November 5th North American, 12:30am Eastern.
During this time, it is up to you, to enter the portal, arm yourselves, and kill as many gorillas as possible. Some will be dropping gorilla replicas that you must collect. Near the exit, there are chests, to drop your gorilla replicas in.
Please put them in the provided bags, and drop the whole bag into the chest.
This is an event for everyone. There is a corpse stone if you need it, which will summon the LAST of your corpses for 1000 gold. None of your personal gear is necessary, or permitted as these mobs should die fairly quickly, even to someone brand new to the shard.
Have fun, and collect as many as you can!
There will be prizes announced after the event ends for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, as well as a participation reward for everyone.
Only one character per account may submit items.
All the regular play nice rules still apply. No kill stealing, farming afk, etc. etc.
Any attempts to get around these rules will result in instant disqualification from winning this event and any of its rewards, as well as possible disciplinary action.
Good Luck!

Re: Diseased Gorilla Hunting Event
Do we hold the bag until the end and drop it all at once or after each time through?
Re: Diseased Gorilla Hunting Event
Possible exploit: trading the gorilla replicas/tossing them on ground for others (clanmate/friend) to pick up = teamworking together and combining the replicas for a huge ammount of em... Now i do not know if it is possible but making them account bound would clear it out IF it is possible...
And thanks for this event, always fun bashing neon coloured gorillas gone berserk :D

Re: Diseased Gorilla Hunting Event
All I know is I tried chasing someone down to give them a replica because we sorta went after the same gorilla and I killed it and got a replica and wanted to see if the person wanted it, because we went after the same creature. They kept running tho lol. Probably should have said something but I am a really shy girl.
The event is wicked fun for me so far. I've tried to steer clear of other players and find my own quiet peaceful spot.
I don't really know if what you describe is possible, I'm not sure. I just wanted to give someone a replica in case that was a gorilla they wanted to kill.
Ah well, fun event. :)

If i drop a bag into the chest and leave am I allowed to go back and do the event again? And if so will the next bag get counted towards my last dropped bag or do I start all over?
Re: Diseased Gorilla Hunting Event
As it is a 3 day event, and I am not 100 % sure, but I'm guessing all your bags count and the event is repeatable. It wouldn't make sense to me if it wasn't.

Re: Diseased Gorilla Hunting Event
You may drop multiple bags into the chests, which is why it is running for 3 days, to give everyone a chance.
Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not, but you have a choice to not participate if you don't want to or feel threatened in some way by not having your gear. Not all events are made for shard veterans, and this is supposed to be fun, and not very challenging for EVERYONE, not just YOU. If you dislike it, don't walk through the gate.I love events where all the stuff I have worked so hard to get gets put into my bank! About the only change I would suggest for this type of event, is adding a prize based on the number of gorilla's you collect, as well as the overall first/second/third.

There will be prizes, they just have not been announced yetThere will be prizes announced after the event ends for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, as well as a participation reward for everyone.

You can collect rare gems from loot?
Re: Diseased Gorilla Hunting Event
I'm not sure why, they are either on gorillas' loot tables, or a special of the facet which is a dupe of fel.Aster wrote:You can collect rare gems from loot?
You won't be able to take them with you, as you have to walk through a strip gate to get to the other side.
