Re: Fier's poetry corner
I like this thread very much! Nice body of work, Fiernocht.
Leaves fall;
Over-ripened youth
Humbled by greater winds.
Blowing
Moving
Flowing vibrant suns of flame:
Swans on wings outspread;
Patchwork striking red
As Love's sweet lips.
Faded shades of life
Now facing death
They whirl about
Clamoring -
Voiceless pleading voices
Receding
Leaving amorous fingers
Groping for fire
Grasping air alone
In flurrious hopes
To race from end
To start again.

shadows... rainbows... *goes in* ... *clears fingers*
---,¤`---
you tried to rip my heart out, but, you failed-
you could not find what isn't hidden;
you could not rob what's freely given;
you could not cut what isn't tied;
you could not spill me, though you tried.
you tried to torch my body, but, you failed-
you could not hew what isn't solid;
you could not burn the ante torrid;
you could not deplete world supply;
you could not mill me, though you tried.
you tried to disrupt my mind, but, you failed.
you could not blacken the brighter side;
you could not compress the open wide;
you could not doubt the bona fide;
you could not will me, though you tried.
I tried to survive evil, and, prevailed.
my love burst sunlight at your darkness;
my courage rose above your argus;
my trust dissolved your cyanide;
you could not kill me, if you tried.

Re: Fier's poetry corner
Too young to go and Too loved to die.
I feel lost on this path,
and stuck in the aftermath.
It doesn't seem to make sence
why one should be stuck behind this fence.
Why did one die and another live?
was it worth the life that he had to give?
I don't think it was.
but I don't think it happened just because.
I feel a chill as the thunder roars,
and shiver as the cold rain poors.
I think to myself with a heavy heart and let out a sigh ....
My friend you will always be to young to go and to loved to have died.

Re: Fier's poetry corner
Something a little more along the lines of the dark themes in this thread:
Life
Crushing me
The pressure is enormous
From every side
Closing in
Bearing down
Trapped
I try to move
To no avail
Destroying me
The fear is maddening
Breaking my mind
Pounding fists
Snapping cords
Scared
I scream out loud
But no one hears
And then I die
Life
Crushing me
The pressure is enormous
From every side
Closing in
Bearing down
Trapped
I try to move
To no avail
Destroying me
The fear is maddening
Breaking my mind
Pounding fists
Snapping cords
Scared
I scream out loud
But no one hears
And then I die

Re: Fier's poetry corner
A battle of a hundred rhymes without reason.
A soul that surely says death is in season.
Thunder of the marching of thousands of demons.
I in mask, solely pray to my ancestors for strength.
Defeat is something I do not fear.
a million souls I channel near.
the hearts of the ones I hold so dear.
are stronger than any enemy imagined or real.
This is for a sister of mine, she may not be blood but we will always be family.

Re: Fier's poetry corner
I'd like to share two pieces. First, a haiku:
No one hears my song
As I lay dying tonight
So I raise my voice
And second, a bite off Emily Dickinson:
I turn the lamp-post on for light
But when I see your pain,
I wish that you would not see me,
And turn it off again.

I wish that you would not see me,

Great ones Unbeliever!
Watching the news last night, I heard a great quote. Not poetry, but brilliant words all the same.
It was from Sir jack Brabham who had just died at the age of 88. He was three times world Formula 1 champion, and the only champion to have raced his own designed and manufactured car. He retired from racing in 1970.
As an old man, he was interviewed and said :
"My next challenge is to die without leaving behind any enemies".
"Because I intend to outlive all the bastards!"
