Crafting Carpentry and others
Crafting Carpentry and others
With 126 carpentry, suddenly I cannot create ANY exceptional items. Put in help ticket and +Arden just said to just tag them. I asked what is that? I posted all things I did to try and correct this. In almost a week, I have not gotten NO response
I am a crafter character. I stopped smithing because almost all small Bods are for weapons and all large Bods are for armor. Mining for plain ingots a drag and waste of effort and resources so I stopped smithing.
Without smithing and carpentry , I am down to gardening and tailoring and some building. My game is over.
I will leave the shard after latest plant harvest but refresh houses in hope the new stuff corrects this and level of frustration
Otherwise I am outta here. It was a great shard me. Very sad now

Re: Crafting Carpentry and others
I have just finished doing a few 1000 carpentry BoD's and did notice that when some items are crafted they did not give the "exceptional" message, yet they were still considered exceptional as I could still fill the exceptional BoD's with them. My skill with carpentry set on was 138 and the only things that were not always 100% exceptional were the Tetsubo (96%) and the Plain Wooden Chests (say around 85%) which I could get to 100% with a +10 carpentry hammer if I wanted.
Some things like the Plain Wooden Chest when looking at the info before trying to craft said 100% success to make & no info on exceptional chance at all.
Maybe try adding some of what you made to the BoD's and see for yourself, that's what I found out anyway by trial and error.
Anyways this craft is the next one to be overhauled I believe. Best of crafting luck to you.

Hello.
Tuferon, we can't work according to your pace. Things will get done, but they take time. Issues need to be looked at, diagnosed, determined if it's actually broken, and then figuring out a fix, then adding that fix, and getting it approved by +C. There's a list a mile long, and a week old page usually doesn't take precedence over a month old page. the list of bugs is long, and will take a long time to fix. Oftentimes, it's not just a simple thing to diagnose and correct, although sometimes it is.
We have plans to work on carpentry in the near future, with an overhaul to the crafting gumps, to make them like the other ones, and update the BOD rewards. Since your bug is related to carpentry, it will likely have to wait until that update happens, since it's part of that system. It might be a quick fix, and get fixed sooner, or the bug might disappear all together with the update. Only our coders know that, and can prioritize it.
The point of BODs (to me), is to get some, turn them in, get more, all the while building up your collection. I know you disagree with me, and that's fine - but, that doesn't mean the system is broken. It's supposed to be difficult to get full large bods. You should have to complete (or at least collect) hundreds or even thousands of small bods before you get any end-tier large bods you can complete. We even implemented a way to get 20 BODS all at once to make it a little easier, it's just not live yet for anything other than tailoring.
Fill those weapon bods, and turn them in, and get new small bods. Rinse. Repeat. That's how you keep getting more and more and updating your collection.
One thing I realized a while ago, is don't mine for iron. Focus on colored ore, and iron will come naturally. Try collecting 5000 of each colored ore before you go and do your next set of bods, and see how much iron you end up with. Worst case scenario, you can sell any extra you get. One of my personal goals was 60,000 of every colored ingot. I'm not there yet, but i have somewhere between 500,000 and 1,000,000 iron ingots sitting around collecting dust. Things take time. That took me several years to get that much ore/ingots. It won't happen overnight.
I will explain how to tag items for you again, with pictures this time.

Re: Crafting Carpentry and others
In the years I have been playing, I HAVE NEVER gotten a large bod for weapons. I have sold special ores and do not need to be told how to mine. Your explanation is mostly logical and I understand the workload, but you haven't explained tagging which I never heard of. Like I asked +Arden, What is it?!
Fact is, with carpentry and smithing out, I have no more game

Re: Crafting Carpentry and others
Large BODs for weapon's don't exist here currently. They are in there to make other bods more rare.
Look at the pictures i included. Right below them is a description.
You click the little "+" button that says either "LOCATION", "ITEM/NPC", or "PLAYER", then TARGET that thing, or enter a player's name, and it TAGs them, as shown.

Re: Crafting Carpentry and others
Tell me sir, why do you have 19/20 be small bods for which there is NO CHANCE?!?!! And don't tell me they are a turn-in chance for others. NO I mostly get back what I turned in.
Re: Crafting Carpentry and others
You don't like not getting what you demand do you?
Re: Crafting Carpentry and others
Demand? like? Cannot make ANYTHING exceptional in carpentry after years of doing it
Smithing:Only get bods for weapons no large bods for them available, period.
what is demanding about just wanting to play the game that is supposed to be there?

Re: Crafting Carpentry and others
+Requiem I still do not understand how tagging works. Will this enable an object to be put into the Bod?
Re: Crafting Carpentry and others
Tagging puts a "tag" on an item, so that we can look at it's serial number or other pertinent information that a player cannot see, to allow us to find and diagnose potential issues.
It's much easier to search for a very specific and 100% unique serial number than "a quarterstaff", for example.
Click the plus sign next to the thing you want to tag.... Target the thing you want to tag. It marks it for us to look at.
It has nothing to do with you as a player, but everything to do with helping us staff diagnose and potentially fix the issue.
I said above (look just below the pictures I added)

Shout out to +R for being super-patient and clear in this thread, for absolutely zero thanks in return.

Possum 12 was helpful. +Requiem's explanations were clear but not helpful in any way.
