Arrow accumulation

Again today I saw someone ask about how to get arrows in bulk and that player got the typical answers: buy from exex or go to fletcher vendors and keep revisiting them until you get them to 999 arrows offered. I would like to offer another alternative. Take what you need off of mobs and get paid for it. In less than 15 minutes, I acquired 1800 arrows from mobs I could easily reach via world teleporters. I could have added another 1500 by going to Fel Sanctuary and Blighted Grove and a few isolated places in Ilshenar. I guess I am a scrooge and frown upon paying for something I could easily get on my own and make gold while I am doing it, albeit not enough to consider it a gold sink. But, I am after arrows, not gold. I know many of you already know this, and many of you are admittedly "too lazy" to go after something that you can get with just a few clicks. This is for those who may not know or don't mind a little adventure while increasing resources.

If you can protect yourself or have nice pets to fight for you, this is how you do it:
1. Visit Wrong in Trammel and go after the Juka Lords. 1 run netted me 760+ arrows and 238 aids.
2. Visit Ruined Castle in Ilshenar near the Savage camp and repeat step 1. That netted me 519 arrows and 150 aids.
3. Visit Ice Dungeon ratman fort. There I netted another 218 arrows.
4. Visit Ankh Dungeon. I picked up another 244 arrows.
5. Ratman Lair in Ilshenar. Another 78 arrows.

The first 5 steps took me 20 minutes and that was because I killed everything. If I just concentrated on the arrow carrying mobs, it would have been much quicker.

Here are the other spots for more arrows.
Rat area in Fel Sanctuary. You should easily pick up over 500 arrows in there.
Ice Dungeon in Fel. Another 200.
Changelings in Blighted Grove, Twisted Weild.
There are more spots in Ilshenar that have 2 or more Ratmen Archers.

If Blighted Grove is a bit tough for you, just stealth to the changeling area, then bring out your pets if you have any.

Point of this post is to show a way to accumulate arrows while saving gold. And I know when I was a fledgling player here, I needed every gold coin I could get. I don't think that has changed since. If you think this helps, great! If it was a waste of your time, then I apologize. (but I won't lose any sleep over it )

Arrows are under 4 gold each on ExEx. Spending 20 minutes to get 2000 arrows is a waste of time. That's an 8000 gold value. You can kill 1 balron and get 8k gold in 10 seconds. It's not about saving money, it's about maximizing earnings with the time you spend playing. Doing things on purpose to collect arrows is very inefficient. As long as arrows stay under 20 gold each, i'll keep buying arrows in large quantities from ExEx as will many others.

You suggest new players with little cash can collect arrows by going after Juka Lords in Wrong? Why not send them after Kronus while you're at it?

1. Not everybody can kill Balrons.
2. Not all Balrons give 8k gold.
3. There's nothing wrong with a little adventuring while farming product. You don't have to "maximize earnings" every time you log on.
4. Is there an arrow surplus at Kronus?

1) pretty much anyone can kill ballys pretty quick at blood if they macro tame, lore, heal, spirit speak, archery, discord, chiv and grab a trash mule pack. With just archery, heal and chiv you can kill them but, it takes a while. You can quite reasonably kill ballys within a few days of actual playing here.

2) most ballys don't give you anywhere close to 8k (more like 2)

3) There is nothing wrong with aventering for the fun of avetureing but, people should realize if they arnt having fun grinding for arrows buying, them is dirt cheap so do what you want to in the game. (only mining I do in Plat elleys because i found it fun to work on the script, If I actually need ingots ill just buy them)

4) there are no arrows at kronos (clearly) it was simply a example of how not to send new people to hard places they clearly cant manage that some how went over someones head.

This is a game. I don't think anybody would grind for arrows if they weren't enjoying some aspect of it. It just that different people enjoy different things. For example, some people enjoy doing plat elleys for whatever reason. Others would have no interest in such a thing. What's fun for one, obviously is not fun for all.

And the arrows at Kronus question was made tongue-in-cheek.
