Leveling Weapon Help

Post by stargazerm31 »

I'm Looking for the best course or action to level this Scythe up that I found at the last IDOC Event. I Don't want to mess this one up.

Damage Increase 38
Hit Fireball 38
Hit Life Leech 38
Hit Lower Attack 38
Hit Mana Leech 38
Hit Stamina Leech 38
Swing Speed increase 25

I was thinking to first use change weapon deed to a Dbl Axe or Single handed Radiant Scimitar and use Ravnos Shield with it. I do have Max Lumberjack so i am leaning towards Dbl Axe.

As far as skills go i was thinking 2 courses of action.

1. (Maybe to thinly spread) or 2.

Hit Life Leech 38
Hit Stamina Leech 38
Hit Lower Att 38
Hit Mana Leech 38
Fireball 38

then Add

Hit Lower Def 42
Lightning 42
Hit harm 42

or 2

Hit Stamina Leech 44
Hit Mana Leech 49
Hit Lower Att 38
Fireball 50

then Add

Hit Lower Def 50
Lightning 50

Thoughts?? Perhaps something completely different.

First step: check if it's looted or player-crafted. If it says "Crafted by PLAYER" at the top of the description, -OR- if it says "player crafted" down in the bottom third of the description, it's player crafted.

For a looted weapon, you have a pretty good one. For a player crafted weapon... I wouldn't level it. You'll only get 3 points per level with a player-crafted weapon.

Rule of thumb: don't improve anything with points that you can improve with something else. For example, you can improve damage increase with a sharpening blade, so don't improve it with points. You can add self-repair with an ED deed, so don't add it with points.

Think carefully about the hit-lower-attack. That reduces the effect of reflect physical damage since you don't take as much damage.

There's also a debate in the forums about whether swing speed increase is harmful. I'd search it out and read.

Lightning is a good bet. I'd max it out. Mana leech too. Can't have enough mana leech to power the weapon abilities.

I personally like stamina leech -- it helps mitigate loss of speed due to stamina loss. But I wouldn't put any additional points into it since you regenerate stamina with divine fury I think it is.

It is a good weapon for a very early progress. Will explained it well. I would also point out that that weapon would need to be transformed into something else to have better use of performance so that should also be weighted down on your final decision. In case you lack of any weapon for the time being and would just level it to help you out for free (just the levelling deed), I would point out to look for this order of upgrade:

1st lightning (highest damaging hit)
2nd hit fireball (second hardest hit)

3rd:

could look for hit mana like will mentioned but you must have to consider -> if you really want to transform that weapon into a better hitter that consumes mana or just hold on to it while you look for better ones?

if you want to hold your EDs for a better weapon perhaps consider hit lower defence and the remaining extra points spend in harm.

This is to get the best damage out of the weapons. Of course in the early beginning, one could always look for extra STR or other buffs that you may seem fit. Again, this is not the weapon that will take you all the way. So look for damage and sustainability. Stamina should not be a very important aspect here since it affects swing speed only, which your weapon covers.

If it's a Makoto or TC vendor, you can use the the stone in TC to warp straight there with the item's easyuo ID from vendors.uoex.net.

Thank you for the replies. What I guess I mean about vendors it's hard to find items. I can find all the vendors but looking through x amount of containers etc. is what I'm talking about.

Thanks again

I understand your difficulty, you can track/find everything using https://vendors.uoex.net/ and just copy the "Vendor EasyUO ID" and paste it on the yellow stone gump at TC.

Unfortunately for looted weapons that is not the case, you really do need to carefully look for them in all vendors. Two tips: If you know what sort of weapon you are looking for just use forums or discord (matrix channel) to ask for that specific weapon. If you are looking for bargains than that will require the effort :)

Good luck!
