It's account bound so if you get it from him you'll have to hang onto it for 4 months. Agreed on the "value" of this item. While 5 x 60 might look nice it really is mostly useless.

This was a cheap attempt to provoke a negative response from me. Thats why he posted this. Nothing more. Since I was asking people to let me grab it during IDoC for display purposes in my treasure room.

But, perhaps someone will get their hands on it, and it will find it's way to me. So I can give it a proper home. Next to gold bars and other rares obtained from the TC gift stone, & ect. If not, I will be fine either way. Was only a missed opportunity for a display item.

It isn't old. If you use a wep type change deed, select the dreadnought weapon option, it ends up looking like that (the wep specials). It even has the new "renamed item" tag. It isn't old, it definitely isn't valuable. I guess it has the value of a blank dreadnought sword at the very least... but as a weapon, it's pure garbage. Hence my shock someone wasted any ed on this thing.

Just as an FYI, since I'm.never going to release my weapons guide, you should make it a double axe before you use your second type change and make it a DLS. Double strike is more useful (on a good weapon) than the crushing blow.

Without splitting hairs with you JW. I have seen players make worse Dread Swords than that one. I am pretty sure even with the stats on Sky Singer. I could clear 3 million gold in a day with it. Perhaps you worry more about Min/Maxing, than functionality.

I posted my Dread Sword. It's a 7x46% Dragon Slayer. (only hit harm and lit) You added the 50% Damage Increase when it was a War Hammer yourself. It is also Crushing Blow/Whirlwind like Sky Singer. I can clear 3.5 mil in a day with it. (Without Enemy of One, Divine Fury, or Consecrate Weapon.)

With all due respect JW. You are not the best source of knowledge when it comes to playing with adequate equipment. You are the foremost word on "Overkill" however. You end up insulting half, if not more of the server when you insult weapons lesser than yours. Which is pretty arrogant. Be better.

Not defending John or anything, guys a douche (love you really), but that weapon just isnt good. it isnt efficient. You can kill everything with it, but it would take twice as long to kill as a better weapon would and everyone knows... time=money.

Then I suppose we will just have to disagree with one another and leave it at that. Which doesn't matter to me. I will mention that if someone couldn't hunt effectively with Sky Singer, or a weapon with the same stats or close to the same stats. Then it's a player malfunction. Not a weapon issue.

Anyhow, JW, I was mentioning the damage and speed base of the weapon. Not the specials. My Dread Sword has 19-20 Damage and 25 Speed. Sky Singer has 17-18 Damage and 28 Speed. Both swords made from War Hammers. So the stats are not normal.

What does more damage and kills faster? A weapon with fireball, harm and lightning or a weapon with just lightning?

That should tell you that it isnt a good weapon and is only good for deco, banksitting, or, if youre a sadist and like to spend longer killing things

Well, you can have your opinion. (Obviously). I just see things a different way.

I get called a bad American a lot. Since I see efficiency as subjective, not an absolute. If you are going after hard targets only. Like most players do. Sure, Sky Singer is a horrible weapon. But. If you are casually hunting through dungeon to dungeon all day. It's not hard to clear 3 million gold in a day with a weapon like that.

I can, and have cleared 4 million gold by making a half screen and watching YouTube horror shorts, or goofy comedian skits all day. With my own Dread Sword that has 46% hit Lit and Harm on it. I can also clear 2.5 million in a day with no weapon at all. Just Magery and a Pet. (Have to pay attention when I go full mage though. So no watching YouTube while glancing at where I'm running on UO.)

Time to me, does not equal money. Knowing where to hunt and what to hunt is how I play. I cannot say you must agree with me, and I certainly do not have to agree with anyone else's stance on the best way to play this game.

It does help that it is currently Summer in the US. So I have all the time in the world until September. So clearing "big quid" with what you and others would consider a "Junk Weapon", is easily achieved. I believe the player matters more than the weapon they carry.

Yeah it's nothing personal or anything mate, we all play how we wanna play, but facts are facts and more dps equates to more gold per hour, which in turn, makes weapons more valuable the better hits they have. I'd say for 90%+ of the shard it matters and while I respect it doesnt bother you, it does bother the vast majority, otherwise all weapons would have the same value as noone would care how much damage they do.

I'm not taking any of this personally with you Peach. A debate is only that. A debate.

I am giving my point of view. However, you are right how a large % of the players prefer the strongest weapon they can find. Their reasons can vary for needing stronger than what they have currently. As I previously stated. Many go after the hard targets. Meaning monsters with obscene amounts of HP and hefty gold. I not only go after them, but everything in between. Gold adds up faster that way (for me) with less than perfect equipment.

My goals are a bit different for what others would call "End Game". I will not be aspiring to better than adequate equipment. Regular Relayers that don't get upgraded to BC's or Titans is my current goal. With no belief I need better. Same with Weapons. If they do the job I have them for, then they are fine as is. Also will not be trading out my 6 GoC pieces for Relayers. They stay where they are.

I'm a career artist by in RL, and I just want to make nice custom houses. Thats my End Game. The Yard Wand is a wonderful collage tool. Cerrera is someone I admire on this server for his custom housing. I would like to add to it along side him.

The only thing I am starting to take personally. Is how some people like JW have overkill weapons and equipment. Then insult others for having less. Not very friendly and rather off-putting to constantly see that kind of beratement. It's a form of bullying to make sure you constantly put down the efforts of others to make yourself look bigger than you are.

If the player who owned Sky Singer saw what is being said about his prized sword. What do you think his feeling about that would be? He may have gotten much use out of that sword and enjoyed every minute. There is no telling how much gold he farmed with it. Or what bosses at events he killed with it.

Some people see a paint brush, and think "I can paint my shed this summer.". Others see that same paint brush, and think "I can use that to finish my gallery painting.". To me, I see more possibilities in less on the way to achieving more.

Everything that's been said is absolutely valid. But let me tell you this, from my personal experience I kept spending all my money on deco and houses until one year I decided that I needed to upgrade my gear. Looted a new weapon with more hits and added better relayers to my char and well... I also thought that "I can farm as much gold" ... "it's just overkill"... I have to be honest, it sure changes the game when you gain a few more hits.

About the weapon, congratulations on making it aesthetic! Love to see all numbers perfectly paired with no 59% or 1% random values hehe

Sorry, but this weapon can be surclassed by any average crafted weapon. John was absolutely right, if you are a new player trying to invest money on a good weapon run away. RUN!

If you don't believe me just go with a 1 hit weapon and try to kill a mob with a decent amount of fixed HP, like Travesty. Then repeat the process with the same base weapon, but this time with 2 direct hits on it. Each time write down how many seconds you need to complete the fight. Empiric FTW.

The gap in favor of the 2 hit weapon will be clear. The difference get even more significant with the increasing of spell damage increase bonification. And no: stamina leech is not mandatory like mana leech, hit lower attack is horrendous since it lowers the DPS coming from reflect physical damage.

P.S.: eh, I so many people lately trying to "help" new players...

Don't know what else to say to some of these replies. I'm merely commenting on the (horrendous) stats of a weapon, not trying to insult anyone for having lesser gear than me or others.

As everyone has stated, this weapon is terrible, essentially unusable compared to what you could pick up for basically nothing in game. If you don't like facts, that's fine, write some essays saying JW is a douche. It seems that I'm just everybody's scapegoat now. But it doesn't change the fact that this weapon is of very poor quality. Reality isn't subjective guys, sorry to burst your bubbles.

As turnabout stated at the end of his reply... I am pretty concerned about the "advice" and "help" that some people offer new players here... some pretty shoddy male cow excrement getting around nowadays.
