~ To make this requires 80+ Animal Lore

Notes:
Please read Animal Taming for more detailed information.

To craft the Potions, Hitching Post and Pet Leash you will need to purchase a Brush from an Animal Trainer NPC.

You can go from zero - 120 without taming a thing if you buy skill from the Trainer, get +Taming jewelry to get you to 60 and start crafting from there. It costs much more but it is very possible and fast.

Use dyes on your animals and you'll get dirty bottles which you can clean in water (Double-click and target a water source).

In the blacksmith gump, check your %success. For optimal results, make something between 40% and 70% success that consumes minimal ingots and either smelts or fits in a small bod that you have.

As an alternative to the Plate Hiro Sode, you can make royal circlets all the way to 120 as well. The gains will be slightly slower but they are easier to make and require far less ingots so you can craft longer on the same amount of materials.

Note: At 50 you can start to make ballot boxes as a less material intensive alternative till 70.

Also, at 115, you can craft elven podiums for 20 boards each if bark fragments are unavailable. Giant Replica Acorn is a great choice.

Alternatively, you can craft decorative boxes up to 120 - while they cost 5 wood more than the elven podium, they can be chopped down, making them less material intensitive, while maintaining the same skill gain.

Chivalry

On average it will cost you about 100,000 - 170,000 gold to reach 120 in Chivalry, unless you're using a full LRC suit. You'll need to tithe gold at an ankh by going up to an it and clicking on it. Use the arrows at the bottom of the popup menu to add the amount you want tithed, then click ok. You can check the amount of tithed gold in your book of chivalry.

Discordance

Unfortunately the previously available information is inaccurate and I haven't taken notes as I've progressed in this skill so my update is not precise but it is better than false information.

Skill Range What To Discord
0.0 - 30 Buy from NPC
30 - 40 Farm Animals
40 - 65 Scorpions
65 - 90 Giant Beetle
90 - 106 Hiryu

The above method will take you from 30-90 in ~one hour at Moonglow Zoo. 90-120 may also be completed in ~one hour.

Healing

Healing can be raised simply by using bandages on yourself and other people. At 60.0 Healing you stand a chance of curing poisons, and at 80.0 you can attempt to resurrect player ghosts. The amount healed is modified by your anatomy skill.

Some of the best ways of macroing healing gains are to stock up on bandages and cast the necromancy spell 'lich form', this will cause you to constantly lose a small amount of HP. Also you can cast the Chivalry spell 'Devine Sacrifice' around people with less than 100% HP - if has been found that people training Necromancy by casting Lich form is good for this - and healing yourself back to full.

At 80.0 healing, simply heal a ghost without the ghost accepting the res.

Inscription

Skill Range What To Make
0.0 - 30 Buy from NPC
30 - 42.8 Poison scrolls
42.8 - 57.1 Lightning scrolls
57.1 - 71.4 Paralyze scrolls
71.4 - 85.7 Reveal scrolls
85.7 - 90 Flamestrike scrolls
90 - 104 BOD Books
104 - 120 Vampiric Embrace scrolls
  • From 0-50 skill for no blank scrolls/reagents and almost no money you can simply copy one book to another! Simply click on the blue gem next to inscription on your skills list and click on a book with anything written in it and onto a second one! (This can be done over and over with only two books!) Empty books can be purchased from scribes or provisioners in many towns! The one in Britain is just to the bottom left of the bank and the tailor shop.
  • From 90-104 you can also make Resurrection scrolls.

Lockpicking

Lockpicking is now customized on this shard! As of July 2017, lockpicking skills for opening chests is determined by the material of the chest and the material of the lockpick. The material indicates an approximate skill level required to open it.

Lock type Skill required
Iron 0 - 9.9
Dull Copper 10 - 19.9
Shadow Iron 20 - 29.9
Copper 30 - 39.9
Bronze 40 - 49.9
Gold 50 - 59.9
Agapite 60 - 69.9
Verite 70 - 79.9
Valorite 80 - 89.9
Blaze 90 - 99.9
Ice 100 - 109.9
Toxic 110 - 119.9
Electrum 120 - 129.9
Platinum 130 - 139.9

For example, at 42 skill you can try to pick a Bronze lock. That particular bronze lock may require 41.2 skill and you will be able to attempt to pick it. Or it may be a 46.2 skill lock, which means you will not be able to pick it with just 42 skill.

Failure/Success text
There are now many differences for failure or success, with some versions being very rare to even see. It makes it a little more engaging and interactive when you see one of these special messages upon opening a lock, or failing to do so.

Different lockpicks will give you different results. Using a higher material level lockpick will give you a bonus to succeed, whereas using a lesser lockpick will make it more difficult. Picking a chest that has already been picked will not give gains.

Skill gain
Your chances of picking a lock do not start at 0% but can be negative, meaning the that if you cant lockpick a chest try using a lockpick with a better material since each material grade gives +5% success chance for every level that is higher than the lock, also it works the other way around so if you're having trouble finding locks that can skill you up use a lockpick with a worse material level that reduces your chance of success, also when doing the calculations for gaining skill based on fail chance, the system uses the greater of the fail chances (your skill or your skill+/-lockpick bonus) so the chance to gain is always the highest possible. The chance of skill gain distribution is detailed below.

Lockpick skill Gain per success
up to 30 skill 0.2
up to 60 skill 0.1 + 0.1 (based on fail chance)
up to 90 skill 0.1
90 and beyond based on fail chance, per success

Lumberjacking

Arm axe... fight. This is the quickest way to build lumberjacking and will work all the way to 100. If you want to fight against monsters, get several around you and use whirlwind attack (secondary attack.) The area around the Tokuno Champ Spawn has a dense, agressive, semi-low end damage spawn. With whirlwind you can hit up to 9 critters at a time, a lumberjacking skill gain check being made with each one hit.

An alternative to running around, trying to surround yourself with monsters that want to kill you is the trainers. You can train to skill limit (75) in the training room or to limit 100 using a personal trainer.

Mace Fighting

Magery

Skill Range What To Cast
0.0 - 30 Buy from NPC
30 - 45 Bless
45 - 60 Arch Cure
60 - 90 Reveal
90 - 100 Mana Vampire
100 - 120 Earthquake

From 100 to 120 you can also do it in another way by equipping weapons with the bonus Mage Weapon -XX magery This allows you to cast lower rank spells for faster gains but it might be tricky to find the appropriate negative amount.

Also an LRC (lower reagent cost) suit is highly recommended for training magery.

Also, very good for semi-newbies with good fighting and maybe a bit of tailor skill, you can make an arcane cloak whose charges will be used for spells! Simply make a regular everyday cloak (doesn't matter the color it will change) and double click an arcane gem and target the cloak! (Charges added depends on tailoring skill) You can get arcane gems from Juka Mages and Lords in Wrong (Trammel Dungeons), or from Golem Controllers in Exodus and the Puzzles outside Exodus (Illshenar).

Word to the wise: LRC to any degree makes the charges go off slowly as it increases and you can refill the cloak a lot slower!

Necromancy

Skill Range What To Cast
0.0 - 30 Buy from NPC
30 - 60 Pain Spike/Wraith Form
60 - 80 Horrific Beast
81 - 110 Lich Form
110-120 Vampiric Embrace

Ninjitsu

A good method of gaining extra temporary points in Ninjitsu in order to make the gaps easier to handle is to use a Hanzo's Bow (a fairly common Tokuno artifact) to raise your skill by 10 points.

Without Hanzo's Bow

Skill Range What To Do
0.0 - 23* Buy from NPC at Excelsior Halls
23 - 30 Cast Animal Form (Rat/Rabbit)
30 - 45 Cast Backstab
45 - 65 Cast Mirror Image
65 - 85 Cast Focus Attack
85 - 120 Cast Death Strike

With Hanzo's Bow

Skill Range What To Do
0.0 - 23* Buy from NPC at Excelsior Halls
25 - 30 Cast Animal Form (Rat/Rabbit)
(40) - 65 Equip Hanzo's, Cast Mirror Image
65 - 85 Cast Focus Attack
85 - 120 Cast Death Strike

Note: 25-30(with hanzo)\40(without)another more costly but faster way is to use shurikens. Shurikens are made in blacksmithing requires 5 ingots per shuriken and exceptional is 2 uses and normal is 1. To throw a shuriken you must put in a leather ninja belt(Tailoring 45 skill 15 leather to make hold 10). To load equip the belt then single click. Double click belt then target a target to throw.

  • Note that this may not be as intended - the guide had previously listed the trainable value as 25. The trainer only trains to 23 however and at that value the 2 points can represent a significant gap. Suggest using items that boost the skill to alleviate this.

Poisoning

Skill Range What To Make
0.0 - 30 Buy from NPC
30 - 45 Lesser poison
45 - 65 Poison
65 - 95 Greater poison
95 - 100* Deadly poison
  • Note that deadly poisons will get you only to 100 Poisoning. To reach 120 you will need a +20 skillball or many poisoning skill essences.
  • Casting the Necromancer Spell Vampiric Embrace protects you against levels 1-4 poisoning. Web sources indicate the chance poisoning from a failed poisoning attempt is at a level one less than the poison being applied. This indicates Vampiric Embrace will protect you while applying Lesser Poison, Poison, Greater Poison, Deadly Poison, and even Lethal Poison.
  • 0 to 100 with NPC training took 7 kegs of lesser poison, 6 kegs of poison, 18 kegs of greater poison, and 4 kegs of deadly poison. Note you don't gain by jump to a higher level poison too soon. The above chart worked well on when to increase the poison level.

Provocation

Skill Range What To Provoke
0.0 - 30 Buy from NPC
30 - 40 Cows
40 - 65 Scorpions & Bulls
65 - 90 Giant Beetles
90 - 120 Plague Beasts

If you are provoking the same targets and hit a wall where you get no gains, try switching targets. In training to 120 I hit a wall 3 times. At 116 I hit a wall that lasted 6 hours. Was provoking onto a boat bound Lesser Hiryu. Switched to another Lesser Hiryu while continuing with the same first target. Gains resumed and didn't stop till 120.

  • 40-58 frenzied ostards on polar bears at the Moonglow Zoo

Resisting Spells

Cast Clumsy spell on self all the way to 120. For faster gains get guild members to cast on you as well.

Snooping

Accept an escort assignment, take your NPC to a quiet location (so other's aren't bothered by "snooping" messages,) open their paperdoll, double click their backpack. Repeat attempting to open their backpack until you reach 100 (is a lot easier if you use razor just set a macro of d clicking, loop it and then hit play). Zero to 100 takes less than 2 hours with a 1 second pause between attempts. Doing this will lower your karma to -400.

Tailoring

Skill Range What To Do Materials
0-29 Buy from tailor Gold
29-48 Short pants 6 Cloth
48-56 Fur cape 13 Cloth
56-67.5 Cloak 14 Cloth
67.5-72 Fur boots 12 Cloth
72-79 Robe 16 Cloth
79-85 Kasa 12 Cloth
85-110 Oil cloth 1 Cloth
110-115 Elven Shirt 10 Cloth
115-120 Studded Hiro Sode 8 Leather

This was done using the updated tailoring system and took only a short time to get to GM. The gains seem to only be on successful craft or much more likely on successful craft vs fail, so if you are making things with a very low chance of success your gains will be much slower with the new system it seems
