Are the quest items a similar art/item to something else? meaning, would Razor confuse them for a potion or druid scroll or something? I do have ...

I'm pretty sure i've been doing something wrong, but I have been running the mistvale leggings quest for 4 days, killed all 80 liches, but havent had a single crystalized ectoplasm drop.
