On a semi-related note, is it possible to bump up the respawn rate on mobs, or give each individual mob its own respawn timer? Clearing an area of mobs and then waiting for them to respawn one at a time every 5 minutes just feels like an eternity.

I haven't tested it explicitly, but I believe Excelsior vendors are set up like they are on OSI production shards. In other words, the magic number is 2,000 gold. Do tameable Reptalons exist on this shard? I've scoured the Labyrinth dungeon but can only find the NM, Rend. I've seen a few people mounted on Reptalons in town, but I suspect they're just ethereals.

Windows Update seems to eat up a lot of vram also. I had a similar problem on my Windows 8.1 machine, but after installing all available updates and then completely shutting Windows Update off, I haven't had any issues starting UO.

I'm sorry, I should've been more clear in what I was asking.

The other runics can be obtained as BOD rewards and also as loot on resource elementals. Carpentry seems to the only one that is only a BOD reward. Why is that?

You could also play on the taming angle - add a new tameable (possibly a mount) that has an exceedingly low chance of spawning in the initial T-Map spawn. Or alternatively, add the new tameable as a shrunken pet inside the chest. Or alternatively (again), add a new Imp as chest loot - a chicken (etc...
