Those spots are definitely bugged. I think using Volcanic Eruption hits them, but not certain. They eventually wander into a kill zone.

It will then show under your name.

It seems to me that the focus on major new overhauls is costing us players. Activate all the seasonal quests and run some events. People will come.
I rarely get on now except Halloween and Christmas.
