No idea what the problem was, well actually is... not better yet... but hoping someone could shed some light on it.
I keep getting disconnected... only from UO... everything else internet related is fine. I am running nothing I havent ran in the past month. Just dont understand why only UO is being effected...
Some help? Info? A gun? this is soooo annoying :-p
Getting Booted
Well could you precise how your problem looks like ?
Does this happen only on excelsior, can you connect to other shards ?
At what stage of entering shard, veryfiying account or after char logs on ?
Maybe you changed settings of your firewal that it blocks uo, or your isp started to block uo ports ?
Well of course anything else would help.
Which version of uo do you have?
Did you run anti-virus ?
Do you connect by uo gateway or razor (enter ip there) ?

Ok, well I use UOG 1.9something or another, newest pretty sure. And the problem has been occuring randomly after log in. Anywhere from 1 min to 10 minutes after I log in, everything would just stop moving and then would come up saying connection lost. I could then log back in perfectly, and then just wait for the next boot. I dont play other shards so wouldnt know about that. Not messed with my firewall recently and doubt I could even connect if firewall or ISP blocked ports. I've rebooted, all of the typical try before i whine type stuff. Oh well, maybe it will be better by the time I get home later on.... one can hope

from what i could tell, it's not your ISP blocking ports (you wouldnt be able to connect at all), it's probably not your software altho you could update to OSI and downgrade to the 5.0.0j we got published in the announcements forum.
I think it's most probably your ISP it probably looses packets to the server. Try doing this:
go start - run - type in "cmd" and press "ok".
in the command window type :
ping shard.uoexcelsior.com -t
and you can run a separate window with this running:
ping uoexcelsior.com -t
The first one pings the server, the second one pings this website. After an hour or so, press Ctrl+C on both, and compare how many packets were lost. If both have about the same number of packets lost it could be your connection/Router/modem/ISP.
You can post the numbers here and we'll analyze.
