This will probably come as too last minute but since there is a whipe of the old accounts and house ... why not make another auction with all that stuff in the next week-end .. seeing this week-end auction as attracted so many people ... and yeah even a carpenter but he we cant speek of wont be named .....lol sorry small bubble to the head... but still th suggestion remains .. it would give a chance to the younger player in the shard to bid a bit on some stuff .. since the older players will have spend all ther money on the goodies on the first 2 auctions ... then again just an insight ...
for those that wonder i play a lot ... i believe i have also grown my char alot .. .. but still cant get over 1.2m in bank ... my account as 29-30 days .. i know about a dozen players that have accounts the same age that would like to participate in those auctions ... but theyt mostly turn away when they see bids starting at 500k ...lol perhaps with all the junk from deleeted accounts there couldf be more to offer even to those with smaller pockets
Actually, new players will have a more equal chance of getting lucky with falling houses than they would with any auction. Bring a pack animal and run around, find some good stuff free on the ground. What could beat that for a fun evening?
Well, when the houses fall... it's probably tens of thousands of items, of which probably thousands or hundreds are good ones. I think that we can currently sell about one item every minute or two, or three... so even selling 20 items can take an hour. So i think it's just simplest and best of it all falls, and then it's picked up by whoever wants it.

heres an idea (Brain hurts from thinking of it) might be good or different or not at all anyway here it goes.
You have this NPC player who is running around crying that his house burnt down and he need help before he loses everything. But Dange if he can't remember where it is, it could be in Felluca or Trammel it could be anywhere. he don't even know how big or small it is. He needs someone to help him locate it.
Ok so I don't know how to Code something like this, But it can be a quest,event or a game of Hide and Seek where Staff elects a player. This Staff or Player runs all over Excelsior Word finds a spot places a pre-determin plot with all the goodies. Now you accept to help this NPC and he says there is not much time to find his Place and (depending on How old your account is) you also have to watch out for the Spawn.
So now you spend most of the day and Found the house and its dropped when you go inside,you start to collect his items and the Spawn start to attack you. So you kill the spawn, collect his items, put them in a crate he gave you and take them back to him. When you find him again he Thanks you and offers you a reward or you can Keep the contents of the crate.
Repeat (different Location)
Now if A Player hide the plot He or she cannot give any info on its location or contents. Nor mark a rune to the location (think fel would be great for this). But that player should get somekind of reward too.
Oh ya this could work for a Fisherman who has lost his Boat while out fishing up Treasures.
You need: NPC Crate (Unlimited items and weight),Time
... then again just an insight ...
