Vendors

Post by Highroller »

Funny how that works, I post with a concern about breeding and a few days later my well stocked vendor that had enough gold on it to pay rent for several years gets moved to another location where no one is likely to find it. This same vendor that I had paid a LOT of gold to expand the weight and item capacity on so I wouldn't have to stock it every few days. Yeah the one that lost its location because it wasn't restocked when it didn't need it. Whats next? Well if they make the vendor disappear altogether no giant loss. I already stripped it. Obviously can't trust vendors anymore. Anyone that wants to buy my premium pets, I got them in a box in my house now. Message me if you can catch me online. Assuming the House falls aren't changed to a week so my houses fall and I lose everything. If I sound bitter its because that's how I feel.

It's not funny actually. The information about your breeding post breeding is irrelevant since here we don't do what you have tried to suggest. And it's been months back i think.

Every week or two, we move outdated vendors from Town Center and Makoto Zento into the old vendor house in Excelsior Halls. We get a generated list of vendors that have gone the longest without a restock. Your vendor in particular was removed along with approx 8 other vendors (8 from TC, and there were about the same amount from makoto as well), on the 24th. On that date, all vendors that havent been restocked since July 10th, were moved. We set this date usually 14 days in advance, can be 12 or 16, depending on the situation. Usually we want to move around 6-10 vendors out from TC.

I agree here that you had lots of inventory and it could be left there, but the vendors are removed based on their last date of restock. I looked into making it either just the last sell date, or a combination of both. But just the last sell date was a bad idea because vendors that were restocked just a day back could be moved (or you could just get a friend to buy from you, and it's pretty much the same). The combination of both also didn't work out because pretty much all vendors were either restocked yesterday or the last sale was yesterday (or today). So unless if we had set this to a very short time (2 days), very few vendors would get moved out.

I assure you that your vendor was moved to Excelsior Halls under the exact same rules as all other vendors.

The point is I had paid to expand the holding capability of my vendor. So I didn't NEED to restock as often to maintain a decent amount of inventory. I had 2 to 3 times the normal weight limit stocked on my vendor when it was moved. Sorry, don't care what basis was used, it was flawed since it didn't take into account the actual amount of stock on the vendor. As for restock time if that's all you can use then make it be a ratio of weight and item capacity. If I got 3 times the weight/item limit I should get 3 times as long between restocks. Otherwise I get what just happened. All you have done is make me strip my vendor because I can no longer trust vendors.

Then what if someone's vendor is "stocked" with 40 empty bags... Plus 30 items at 5k each that aren't worth more than 100gp. Nobody would buy those, but they would register as the vendor being stocked.

Anyway, i'm open for suggestions.

I have lost a center row vendor three times, two of which I upgradded as well, but my problem is that things get busy IRL, I stop in every couple days, check to make sure they are still stocked and go running off to RL again.. then when i get back to the shard (like now) the vendor is gone.. the first time i was pretty upset about it, the second time annoyed, and the third time i expected it.. In order to overcome the difficulty, i had my wife demolish one of her houses, and buy the shop behind the Glow bank. i can put up my vendors there without worries of them dissapearing so long as they have money for the rent.
I know it isnt TC where everyone shops, but once it gets well known, and vendor spots rented out it should do well. I will, if i can ever get one, try to get a TC spot just to put runes on for the new mall so ppl will know about it. Your welcome to set up a vendor there High. Even if you are competing against my mules :) its all about the fun.

In the case you theorized yeah the amount of stuff wouldn't be the ONLY factor but then again that wasn't the case on my vendor unless you are trying to say my maxed pets were really worth 1/50 of what I had them priced at. You still haven't explained the restocking time limit vs paying to make a vendor hold more. In effect you pay to lose your vendor spot since you sure as hell aren't paying to need to restock less often since that leads to you losing your vendor spot when you have a LARGE stock of premium items on it.

We will agree to disagree Col.
