Problems with Bee's

Post by Bird »

For the past couple of days i've noticed that my bee's aren't producing anything. They all stay "thriving" or "healthy" and I keep up the potions on them but nothing is coming out of the work I'm putting in. Is there a problem with them? Do I need to redeed them and start over?

are you checking every bee hive?
how many bee hives do you have?
do you have more than one house with bee hives?

This is also happening to my hives, and my wife's hives too. We both have 20 hives, all are thriving and at 100k bees, but none of the hives produced anything during their last update. The age counter went up, and the hives used the potions we added to them. It's like the plague thing where random hives skip production occasionally, except it is every hive.

I reported this issue last night, and +Jade said she would forward it to +Coli, so maybe he'll get a chance to look into it soon.

I have two houses, but only one has the bee's. I have 27 hives. 3 rows of 9. Each one has their own flower and water source. I've checked all the hives and they are all the same, except for some new ones. Their counter went up but didn't produce anything either.

Yesterday, when the was a connection issue with the shard Coli did something with the bee hives so that they would not go sick because so many ppl couldn't log in. Also, any hives that were already sick were made back to thriving. This might have inadvertently caused an issue with the hives not producing for that day.

Well hopefully this will be fixed, if not I would like to know either way. I don't mind restarting the bees, but I would like to know if that is the answer before putting in the effort.

Problem with bees continues tonight. Oddly, it affects only 1 of the 2 houses where I manage hives. Still hoping to hear this is being looked into

Oddly enough, my bees produced yesterday, but not today.

Day 1: no production
Day 2: normal production
Day 3: no production

I own 20 hives (well under the plague point). All hives are thriving and at 100k bees. I've heard of people's counters getting scrambled and sometimes doubled (own 20 hives but the server thinks you own 40), and I'm thinking this may be the problem. I put in another help request when I noticed the lack of production, but no one was available to answer it. I'll try again later and post any info I get from the staff here.

OK, I heard back from +Coli about my hives. It seems that in my case, the problem is that I usually use Primal to take care of the hives, while Taters is actually the owner of the house. Even though they are both my characters and on the same account, not using the house owner is causing the issue. Unfortunately, I didn't hear back from him until after I had taken care of my hives this morning, and of course I used Primal (he has 120 alchemy, Taters has 0, so I prefer to use him for hives and plants), which means that my hives skipped production tonight too.

I don't know what has been changed to cause this, because up until a few days ago I never had a problem. I have even taken care of Raven's bees a few times when she forgot to, and I've never had this happen before. In short, I have wasted the potions for 3 out of the past 4 days, and have nothing to show for it in my hives.

Also, this does not explain why Raven's hives have been skipping production. She uses her house owner to take care of the bees, but she has had several 0 production days recently as well.

Well I found out what might have been causing mine. I had 27 hives up. I was told once you go past 25, hives start having problems. So I took them all down and restarted them with only using 25 hives. So far the hives all seem to go to the next step. We shall see when they start producing.

There definitely seems to be a problem with some of the bees. I have one of my houses that have 8 hives. Those 8 hives have all failed to produce for the last 4 days. I'll usually get 1 or 2 of those that fail on a given day, but it is beyond reasonable to have all 8 fail for 4 straight days. These 8 hives were all ones that Coli touched last week when we had connection issues.
