Proposal for Imprisoned pets

Post by Highroller »

I propose imprisoned pets only be allowed to be used in peerless areas. That IS where they are needed the most. Any other place I can think of they are overkill. This will allow them to be used where they are really needed and allow more use of bred pets other places.

What do you think?

Ok. But you know that nice car you just bought? Well you can only use it on highways. Any other place I can think of it is overkill. This will allow it to be used where it is really needed and allow more use of alternative transportation other places.

Well, pets are blessed, so it wouldn't take up space in your BoH. But yeah, it would still be "teh sux." :displeased:

I think if people are going to spend upwards of 6 million per maxed imprisoned pet (1.5+ for the pet, 4.5m+ on oints) it's probably pretty reasonable to let them use them wherever they want.

stop proposing crazy ideas, you're just proposing this ideas because you sell lots of nobles and it hurts your pocket now that people lean toward imprisoned pets. imprisoned pets aren't bad @$$ unless you spend a lot of money on it.

highroller was putting something out there.. no need to try and call him out as some sort of shrewd capitolist hehehe

the thing about imprisoned pets.. its similar to playing the 80's shooter r-type with unlimited lives.. sure you have seen the ending but you didn't beat the game.. the unlimited lives did..

Good to see all I got was well reasoned replies. (sarcasm intended)

The point is imprisoned pets are better than any other pet in the game with the possible exception of a bio pet. The bio pet takes up 3 pet slots and can't be shrunk. In other words it has limitations. The imprisoned pets don't have any weakness or limitation other than requiring a lot of ointments to max out.

Limitations on where imps could be used would seem to be a reasonable limitation to me. I am hardly supporting my noble sales by this. All pet sales are practically non-existent compared to what they used to be. As it stands the only use for bred pets is to use to try to get Imprisoned pets.

For all the talk of game balance on the shard, I don't see anything being done to balance the power of imprisoned pets. If you don't like my suggestion, fine. What do YOU suggest. All you seem to be doing is trying to ignore the problem.

Or are you going to try to tell me an imprisoned pet with 200% attack, pack instinct and never ever a stat loss is not just a BIT overpowered? Riiiiiight. Pull the other leg.

more than imprisoned pets I have a bigger issue with how the pet slots were handed down with bred animals..

something like the 17hp imp is 2 slots.. it would take a quarter century to make them up..

aside from Cu's and Rune beetles, there isn't a single 2 or 3 slot pet that has anything over a mule.. which is funky as all get out.. then you get into something like a Fire Steed.. which has lower stats than a mule maxxed out (half the dex 1/4 str) and he is a 2 slot pet..

granted I can use those 2 and 3 slotters and have a great ol time.. It appears to me and I could be incorrect that at one time this shard didn't have selective breeding, could be true could be false, regardless i think the slot spends reflect a shard that has no selective breeding... not to mention some pet slots are just arbitrary and weird

rideable drake - 2 slots
rideable giant spider - 5 slots

as far as the imprisoned pets go, I see no reason to punish for using a crudload of oints, the most logical thing to do is make them match the rest of the pet universe and have the same stat losses.. I am not singling out anyone here.. but you would all go freekin crazy if that was attempted.. when its really what is the fair thing to do.. however.. not wanting to start some insane turf war, I am happy leaving the imps alone, and perhaps addressing some of the weird balance with pet slots/stats

fire steed 2 slot 2k hp almost twice of mules dmg and mosly fire dmg

well yeah thats the idea.. not sure if going 2k for the 2 slotters wouldn't be a tad high.. but overall its a better plan than nerfing things.. people get upset about nerfs, adding in enhancements to an already great system would be a good thing.. 2 and 3 slotters could find a market if they had stats that reflected the slot spend...
