Gold Ledger / Portable Bank

Hey I dont know if anyone brought this up but it would eliminate so much gold on the shard if we could put it in a gold ledger just like the token ledger. This way you will have the gold on you at all times. People will be able to put whatever price they want on their vendors for people to buy because it would just take it out of the ledger. You can have it where you can write checks and auto gold scavange or gold loot near by corpse you kill and have it where it can be turned on or off. I know this would make it easier to collect gold and not have so much gold count on the shard or what not i think. And it wouldnt be like a bad thing or make gold easier to get because you can just use [claim to get gold anyway so why not make it where we can put it in a ledger like the tokens. This would not eliminate the use of the bag of holding or anything as ppl would use them still for bandages and arrows or other items they may want to have like regs or what not to hold alot of without keys or just placing non blessed items to save till you get to a bank. You can also put this on the token or gold stone to buy for a hefty amount also because it would be a nice and convenient item to have.

Ok I know this is the crazy one but what about also having a portable bank I mean it would be easy to have and if you like you can only make it accessible in certain areas but still would be cool to have for eds and make donations raise some. just another thought. Hope to hear some good input on these ideas and see what everyone thinks about them.

Interesting idea, but I very much doubt it will pass. Doing so would devalue personal bank stones, bags of holding, and indirectly lead to more inflation (via allowing more loot in a single haul.)
Besides, gold already weighs less on this shard, they probably will not allow it to essentially weigh zero AND not take up any extra space (in terms of item limits) in your bag.

I have been on Shards where those were given out to every new player (gold ledgers) and the personal bank in ur pack was a special loot item. I do not think those would work out well here, like lagos said personal bank stones in a house would be worthless because u could just lock down ur bank from u pack on the floor and use it that way.

If Colibri was going to do this and i dont think he should. but if he did the personal bank would need to be 1k ed. 300 for a bank stone 600 for a huge bag of holding and another 100 cause ur bank can hold oh so many more items than the bag of holding can. also i would make it not insurable/bless so that ppl would have to have a bag of holding to ensure it didnt get lost on a corpse.

as for gold ledgers i say NO. i would prolly not have bought a bag of holding if i could use a bag of sending in gauntlet because i got it to save up a ton of gold while i was down there. and it would cause inflation because everyone would be able to stay where there at for much longer periods of time without haveing to run to the bank and stash there gold.

I think a gold legder would be a good thing, functioning only to hold gold and not as a bank box. yes have it would mean newer players would collect gold more efishently but I would be ok with that. We all know that if you really want to make money on this shard you don't do it in gauntlet. im me yeah you make 30-35k every round (which takes 12 min or so). and if you are with some one you have to switch off looting ever other round. what works out to be 2.5k a min on a good gaunt trip can be earned 4 time over in umbirs camp or some other places. makeing the item cursed (un blessable or insureable) would be a horable idea, if i had 20 mil in a book and i lost it I just might quit.

Ok so I see you all dont really see what I mean with this post and the items I mentioned. So going to try explain this better. Gold Ledger - Yes easier to get gold and faster to loot but it will only be gold. 2) It will take down the item count of gold on this shard, not just something to have weightless gold or more room in the pack. 3) This is man made and can be scripted to have restrictions in certain areas like a lot of things are in areas of the game. 4) For the bag of holding well I dont see it changing just cause you can use it to store valuables that cant be blessed or insured on the spot, plus if your an archer then you will still use it for arrows if you hate keys and same for the bandages.

Personal Bank - is just a bank, it would not work at all as a bag of holding. Also this can have restriction put on it also. and yes ofcourse make it more than the bank stone. These ideas are not to devalue anything but to try and make the shard more clean and put something else that can be donated for or to get.

Most people loot only gold (and oints). And an odd item now and then (like imps, Xx58 weapons etc), but not that many that they couldn't be just left in the pack normally.

Most of gold is stored in bank boxes and I think the game only loads those on opening. So gold there has no effect on the shard as long as the box itself is not opened. And even then, every player on the shard would have to open their boxes at the very same time for it to be noticeable.
Gold in the worldly form is either as loot (which is hastily combined into a single pile upon looting or deco. Single pile = single item = same as carrying a ledger. Deco - it will still be there, regardless of ledgers because it's deco.

For the bag of holding well I dont see it changing just cause you can use it to store valuables

Let's face it - most people use it to carry the gold from their runs. Valuables - true, but I would certainly not waste 600ED to carry arrows and bandies. And even if so, then the large bag would be enough, making HBOH useless.

Personal Bank - is just a bank.

Which is essentially a Giant bag of holding (125 items total, no weight restriction) if you make it accessible at will.

If you put a restriction to the place of use people will still use BoH, but all the itemcount reducing will be eliminated as well.

All in all, the ideas would save a lot of hassle and clicking but the adverse effects would greatly outweigh that. Getting the item count on the shard would be better accomplished by eliminating custom houses and cutting down lockables to 10% of current values. That would give the server a huge boost in performance.

Oh, and a complete sidenote - the setting of UO is semi-medieval. Even if you add magic, having a personal ATM is still a stretch. We don't have that in real life even. ;D

It was an idea that I thought would be good and wouldnt hurt the shard. And give it a new item on the token stone and the ed stones. But oh well its all good
