Wanting to try UO again

I believe it has been 10 years since i have played UO...There were a few reasons why i quit but would like to know is it worth coming back and giving it another chance? Do i have to buy the game again or is there a download i can get? It seems i would be so far behind alot of people and was wondering how long does it take to enjoy the tougher part of the game? Any feed back would be appreciated....Thanks

I use to play this non stop back in the day but looks like there is SO much more content that i might get lost...

you wont have to buy the game again to play on this server.
im pretty sure there is a link on this site to download the game and client. under "new here"
just click the instructions. the down load shouldent take too long unless you dont have very good internet,
i would recommend downloading razor too,
its quite helpful with setting macros to raise the skills that usually take forever. magery, healing, vet, ect..
and there are combat trainers to get your combat skills up as well.
cause imo training those skills can be quite a pain with out razor. and usually take forever.
these are great so you can get to to playing the game quicker

there is alos a wiki on this site for this server. that has all kinds of information.
on almost anything needed to have fun on this shard.

the only thing i really noticed big time from 10 years ago is...

no vanq weapons or gear. gear and weapons now have stats.
you can level a weapon and chose what stats you want on it.
re layered leveled weapons into gear
custom house's
different mounts
custom mounts
turned into a pet taming game unless you go dexer.
erm... skills are different add: necro, chivalry, ninjitsu erm... what's that silent not listed skill.

Thanks for they reply's. I will be trying to get on here in the next couple of days once i get my house unpacked...I was reading the wiki and looks like there is a ton of stuff that im really unfamiliar with. Is there a Skill Cap limit on this shard i cant seem to find that

Nope no skill cap limit. And some skills can even get as high as 130. (combat skills) I have been here two months now and it has been a whole new world for me too. I remember playing back then. Back when a black pair of sandals was considered a huge deal and people would stand around Brit bank yelling that they were selling some. Haha! But I am loving this shard. Hope to see you soon!

The last time i played was when they came out with Trammel because to many people were complaining about the "Reds" which i had one lol. I just remember fighting alot in the Lich Room and killing poison elemental all the time. There was a cave i remember going to and farming dragons there. Hopefully i can find some people here that wont mind showing me around as i prefer to fight in dungeons with people and not by myself.

Ok i finally got the game working and got on last night...I have been reading and i know i want to be a tamer which i was when i left....What are imps and how do i go about getting them since i have read those are better then normal tamed mobs.....Are there premade rune books that can be bought any where or do i just use the teleporter to get around?

Imps are Imprisoned pets, Squirrels, Ferrets, and dogs are avail. You get them off peerless bosses, or purchase them.
They can be very expensive for someone starting out and you need high taming and lore for anything worth controling anyways. I'd suggest to do the newbie quests in the newbie dungeon and train up your fighting skills in the training room and start making some gold of the organics you get from the rats quest.
There are runebook libraries at the young player center, aswell as personal player libraries aswell. You can also obviously get a runebook and mark your own locations aswell. Pm me I'll hook you up with a free one if you like. As for the world teleporter you'll be using those forever anyways, so might as well learn about the locations. Avoid Felucca for now unless your with a guide.

Was wondering if anyone would like to give me a tour of some of the spots to farm that require some traveling....I would like to build up a couple of rune books for some later use...I would like to meet some people that love to fight...Im not one to craft i would rather go kill something lol
