The Legend of Oromis and the Excelsior Library

Post by Melkor »

Oromis called himself the Librarian, He collected all the books that naturally appear on the server. He also held 2 “Writing for Millions” contests where players would write short stories in game, and submit them to his contest. He had all the books on display at his “Excelsior Library”. Sadly this player’s account is no more, and to my knowledge the library is gone too. However the books are not lost!

I’m big on decorating Houses, I thought it would be nice have a small section of my classic castle be a small personal library, so I copied some of the books with inscription and made a small library myself. Eventually I moved to a 4 18x18 custom plot. So I expanded my personal library to include all of the books I mentioned above.

I wouldn’t go so far as to call my collection the “Excelsior Library”, but I don’t think there are many, if any other of these collections. So if you would like to read these books, or if you would like to make a copy of this collection yourself, I have provided a pic to the location of my house gate. The library is on the second floor of the West Tower (right beside the House Gate).

Just wanted to mention that Oromis also made books of all the skills guides from the wiki and wrote a few “how to” guides himself, I do not have these. Also if you search in the forums you will find the Writing for Millions threads.

Thats a real shame. Sad to see Oromis is no more. I'll have to stop by and see how much of it you managed to copy. :|

I'm betting it would mean a lot to Oromis that you're preserving his work. I'll definitely come check the books out some time soon. :)

I was under the impression that somebody managed to salvage all of Oromis' stuff when his house collapsed. At least, the rune library portion of is it still alive (Mook Town, head Northeast), I'm not sure if the owner saved the actual books as well however.

Thanks Devlin and Fier, for me it's really about the deco so I'm good now. I just posted this because I started thinking the Writing For Millions books might be all but lost, so I wanted to let people know they still exist in their entirety, and where to find them.
