AFK Miners

This isn't griping and complaining like elsewhere in this thread.

I am truly curious and excited about the possibility of spawning elementals . It would make resource gathering so much more exciting. Now i am not talking about every other swing it spawns something, but a small chance here and there would be fun.

I know that if you use the gargoyle pickaxe it can spawn them, but maybe modify it so regular pickaxe and shovel can spawn them also.

I'd say no.
Most high end ores need to be mined in a +mining suit to be in any way efficient and this mostly negates any combat abilities. Or at least abilities good enough to tackle, say, a platinum or electrum elemental when it spawns. Besides, I for one do mining just because I don't really like fighting monsters - please don't force me to do it. You obviously (and don't take it the wrong way) have no idea how tough elementals are even for someone who is combat-geared. Take a look sometimes at the death announcements - ones from plat ele's come regularly, and these are often from players who are pretty well equpped. Besides - what about the newbies that want to make their gold by mining? They are most certainly ill equipped to handle eles.

What could be possible is to add it as an option for those who want it - just like mining stone. This would allow you to get runic tools without the need to hunt gargoyles, and yet not force elementals on those don't want them or consider them 'fun'.

Guess i never looked at it that way. Was just getting really bored mining. Maybe i will start using the gargoyle pickaxes i have stocked up for a change.

Your taking one thing from along time ago WAYYyyy out of context and pushing it in this thread based upon hate and ill feelings about me. You have done the PM thing that is fine.. I will go ahead and do as the Staff had suggested and Just put you on Ignore.. this isnt the first time Ive had a problem with you Dramoor. Neither has a lot of other players on this shard... Consider this me not putting up with your attacks on people you believe to be in YOUR way and not the way of the shard as a whole. kinda like this over here

So when is this part of the game coming back on? I know Dramoor had said something about some exploits/cheating that was going on in the process of doing the quest chain. But its starting to cut into my business lol..

Is there any clue to when this will be back up?

Where you were upset that I paged on the exploiting going on in sgail....Also, You use my name, Without any knowledge of my name going on as for the fact that I never said anything to you directly yet you claim i did... You proceeded to try to ruin my evening by every 20 seconds Entering my private TeamSpeak channel and screaming as loud as you can, then leave. And pummel me with pms about "The shard is outraged with you and hate u, u should come defend urself" When I never heard one person pm me, or world chat discuss things about me and the paging on exploits in sgail. Unlike you, If you look later in that post, I admitted to doing the "Deed". But what was going on was not meant to be done in said area...After I changed my password to my teamspeak area, You upset other players by complaining and "Man, I cant hack into his room, ive been trying and trying for weeks now".


I am posting this Because he wants to talk about me personally attacking him...Consider it my response to being sick of him attacking me on a numerous different levels. And I do attack people.I attack all that break rules, or exploit or scam new players or afk. You are not safe because you can try to turn words to make yourself seem like a victim. Even my old guild members who left the shard, Have felt what is like to be on the paged on by dramoor side. Guildies, Non Guildies, I don't care who you are. Break the rules, Get called out on it. I play a respectable game, And I respect the staff and players that truely want to play the game and not find some scam or exploit to quickly gain internet friendship or glory. If you want to just cheat your way up, or play the "why me" card, then you should look to someone else for pity/enrollment.

I mine, because I enjoy it. I use Cyberpopes Mining radar, a lot less clicking and shows me where to mine without more clicking, but its a long ways from a running script. I have to target each spot I mine, and move my character manually etc.. the only thing I am annoyed with is the anti macro script popping up in the first place.. I've never been jailed while mining, and never will be, so I was then,(When Coli implemented it) and am still annoyed at having to be checked like a lowlife lazy cheat when I mine.. nope, It doesn't take long to type in the letters, its not hard, nor even painful... just annoying that a Computer wants to make sure I am not a cheater... I swear at it every time it pops up, but so far it hasn't given me the satisfaction of a reply...
if you KNOW your going to fall asleep, or give in to the temptation of running to the bathroom, or running out for a quick smoke.. WHY would you take that chance? I'm just a little confused.... I argued against the anti macro thingy when Coli put it in, and to this day it still ANNOYS me.. I really HATE that someone wants to check ME for cheating. I don't cheat. I refuse to even train necromancy! Oh well.. It is here to stay, but that still doesn't excuse getting caught by it in any way shape or form... get rid of the stupid rail script and get CP's mining radar.. you fall asleep.. you stop mining!!! no more jail!!

I agree: getting AFK-checked can be frustrating when you make a point of honour to always play within the rules. On the other hand, I like to think that the 5 seconds that I need to enter the code is a small price to pay when compared to damage that would be done to the economy if nothing was done to counter AFK ressource scripters.

Nevertheless, I would like to see at least one improvement: It would be nice if the script was upgraded in a way that it wouldn't trigger the pop up when using a gargoyle pickaxe (pop up can be a problem when it occurs at the same moment than a platinum elemental). I also wonder if it would be hard to prevent the script from triggering when you are actually using an axe in your house to redeem a deco deed.
