Favorite Things About This Shard

There has been an insane amount of negativity since about sunday night and I am over it.. I am surprised our staff has any motivation left at this point.. so in the interest of reversing that trend I am starting this post. its a positive vibes post for our staff and the shard as a whole to see that not all of us think in such a negative way..

so My Favorite things about this shard..

1. Onslaught I really really love the onslaught events Id even skip work for them, they are immensely chaotic and silly but quite a fan of that game.
2. I love the fact that here vs any other shard I can really customize my gear to my hearts content
3. I love the fact that when I say something obsurd and silly such as when I taunted lady mel by calling her a ninnyhammer, staff members occasionally listen, giggle and take the time to turn such a silly term into Candy, it makes me smile, it makes my wife (phoebe) smile and I am sure other people just as much

I love the ignore button. I also think there should be a killing rampage event where mock-ups of annoying players can be attacked by GMs and other players.

Gotta love the high number of active players, the commerce from it and etc.

and I gotta say it the little hidden easter eggs..

here is one that applies only to me..

go to the Games Room Royale, and check out the bottles on the bar.. "Headless Horsemen Imperial Stout"

That's a beer my brother a professional brewmaster brews up once a year at xmas time, he used to play here in the shards early days till about 2 years ago under the name Tennebrae its nice to have a small reminder of his time here still to this day

Events: Capture the flag w/ 4 teams in the towers and triple champ spawn were some of my personal favorite, hunger games was good too, PLEASE CAN WE HAVE ANOTHER, all events in general are good

Auctions: I understand their purpose and its usually the same 10 ppl purchasing items, but they are still fun to watch (remember Nagash paying over 200 million for the daemon ethy mount )

Themed quests: Lots of work gets put into these but the last 4 (christmas, valentine, st.patricks, easter) have been great. Hope to see more to come. Maybe a Mexican themed one in May for Cinco de Mayo Think of all the great food and deco items .... In case you are a new player and missed some of the items from the past quests menitioned, check my forum post under the "market" section, I am selling many of them (sorry for a little self promotion )

I played for a year in a shard that had literally about 10 players. For such a small base of people, I've found Excelsior to be much more friendlier. That is one of many that I love about this shard.

love the fact that no matter the hour of the day there is always someone on.. great for insomniac moments

btw...I won`t wonder, if some players really love the competition to beat a champer camper.

oh...my favorites:
- playing with friends
- non-pvp-shard (even though I was born to UO during fellu only)
- breeding (yeah, I love pets)

I like this shard. I like the people, most of them, i like the admins, their events, the creativity and effort they put forth and the fact they dont run because of all the drama.

I have no problem with him not liking the champer campers, that's totally cool it just doesn't make sense to bring up a complaint even if you cutely word it in a thread about favorite things about the shard.. its rude, and off topic

1. Monthly (well till recently) deco collection quests that popped up.. big fan big fan

hmmm. things i love about the shard...

1. the people i play here with, teamspeak with. hilarious group of people.
2. the events, i came back after 3 months where i missed a couple events but one was ongoing and i did it a ton of times.
3. the fact that the staff takes our thoughts and concerns into consideration. ie... the veteran discussion group. my forum post about the changes to lady mels area. and that the staff really are just trying to make the shard more fun than it already is.
4. the extra challenge put out there to keep people from camping everything that actually allows players to have an equal chance.
5. customizing my character to my hearts content (stole it from yoda but it was just as true for me)
6. huge mansion style housing, currently im at 5 but i continue to save and get house slots.
7. theres something here for everyone to do. some like crafting and can to there hearts content, others like fighting and can become strong enough to fight with almost anything on the shard. others like commerce and work hard to make millions of gold. some collect and want 1 of everything on the shard. no one is told that they cant collect, sell stuff, fight, or craft. its fun for all.
