Advice on 1st relayer

Post by Dain Firehelm »

Hi there excelsorians! :)

Im levelling a BC for my first relayer. I already have planned it, but i would appreciate any imput u relayer connaiseurs could give me :) Before it comes up, i havent included LRC or LMC cause i dont plan on making a full relayer suit. I plan to make 3 (kilt, shirt, cloak) and then 2 SoT relayers (sash/belt). Ok so this is my guess: (original wep properties also included)

Damage Increase 75%
Bonus Dex 8
Bonus Str 10
Bonus Int 8
RPD 15
SDI 20
Bonus hit 8
Bonus Stamina 8
Bonus Mana 8
Reg Hp 6
Reg Mana 6
Reg Stamina 10
HLD 50%
DCI 20
HCI 20
FCR 6

My only doubt is wether take some points out of DCI/HCI and put them on FC , or maybe wait to 2nd relayer for that. Tnxs so much in advance, i dont wanna take a mistep in this matter xD cheers!

If you are planning on relayering a couple of Spirit of Totems (often done as it provides the most HP other than titans hammer and leveling weapons is a pain). That has 15% HCI.
(HCI cap is only 45 so that is covered in 3 SoTs)

Therefore you could drop the HCI from your relayer. Replace with anything useful. Fast Cast? / Resists? / Enh Potions?

I'd also take a look at what other pieces of gear you'll be wearing...probibly GOC chest/arms/boots...Total those pieces give you 3 Fc and 4Fcr...You wouldn't need Fcr 6 on your first one...or second...or third....Yeah long term you will replace them but in the mean time they will serve you well especialy since you don't currently have relayers planned for those spots...Just something to think about... :D

yep good point :) yes actually im planning GoC boots/chest/sleeves/gloves+ 3 SoT+ undefined leggins to cover possible resist needs (mmm maybe making cavorting club for 2nd relayer...).

Wow, all in all, taking out FCR and 10% off HCI, i got like 80-100 points to distribute... maybe LMC, or FC.

Well, tnxs anyways guys, all ur thoughts are being really helpful (and saving me from spending useless precious points xD).

I'm a little late to the party but anything beyond maxing all char stats, adding RPD & SDI, is based on your need. So, for my first few relayers i used looted weps with good resists (because my resists sucked). You can get a good 3x14 or 3x18 or 2 and use that to assist with resists so I don't waste point from BCs on those. I kind of got myself into a predicament because I also added HCI and DCI to those. I wish I would have instead gone with LMC and LRC on those, used SOTs for the HCI and 1 BC +15 on another for DCI (just personal preference based on how the points spent. As it stands, with 6 relayers (one of which is SOT), 2 GOC pieces, I'm already at or over cap on everything (with 70+ resists) except hp regen (well, the diminishing drop off cap), and 5 LMC. That being said, if I redid my relayers, i could hit caps on everything hp regen no problem. I just didn't plan them out very well. I do have a spread sheet for calculating stats now. If you'd like it, pm me. I believe Lestat has one as well. Good luck!

a million ways to fry a fish basically

I probably messed up a few times on my suit, but its 100% relayers had room for a pile of sotts in there, as well as capping/getting beyond diminishing returns value on every relevant stat there is to the point where if I wanted to I could have skipped out leveling to 100 on the last few pieces.. all depends how far you want to take it

pheobe has had the same sort of experience with her gear totally different mix and match elements to mine but ended up in more or less the exact same place when done +/- a couple hitpoints and str

Tnxs for the new imput guys. I'm pretty convinced im not going to be wearing all relayers. Like i said, probably 3 BC and then 2 additional SoT (besides the helmet slot, making 3 sot in total), plus GoC pieces. That said, and after taking all ur advice in consideration, i see that u can cap almost everything in 3 relayers, easily (adding the stats of GoC boots, gloves, sleeves and chest). Im not too interested in adding LRC or Enh Pots (this last is at 50% with GoC,so maybe i'll add some points in later relaters if i change my mind), so that takes a lot of points off the board. I've calculated the resists&caps ill have when done with all the pieces of armor i want to have, and in conclussion, my first relayer would be left as this:

Damage increase 75%
DCI 25%
HCI 10%
Int 8
Dex 8
Str 10
RPD 15%
SDI 20%
bonus hits 8
bonus stamina 8
bonus mana 8
Regen hp 6
Regen stamina 10
Regen mana 6
FC 1
FCR 2
LMC 10%

Cant thank u all enough for ur help, it's been really helpful and spared me from commiting some silly mistakes :)

p.s: Pariah, ill pm u later for that sheet :) tnxs.
cheers,

I recommend enhance potions. I only have it on 3 relayers for 75% and one greater strength potion gives me 67 more hp. If you have a bag of holding and thus can carry a full keg it's awesome!

Enhance pots are nice. I use them, dont know how much I have, but when i take a greater agility pot, I gain 45 dex. A life saver since it takes me to 235.

Another take on relayers: Unless you donate a lot and are able to get all of these relayers at once, it will take you a long time to acquire them. My first relayer was a purchased BC that maxxed out a lot of what I liked as a newer player. Has no regens, but allowed me successfully hit/ dodge/ cast. etc. Which kept me and pets alive since my HP was lower.

I know I will have overkill on a few stats, but the time I play between obtaining each relayer is more enjoyable because I die less. Id rather that then a perfectly balanced suit in 2.5 years. Party on and enjoy!
