peanut butter dye tub?

anyone know where this item comes from? I didn't get an "eat" option when I clicked it once so I went ahead and risked double clicking it which gave me the dye option. I havnt dyedanything with it incase its a single use tube. the person who sold me the tub doesn't remember where he got it and hes been playing for 5 years so I have no clue how old it is.

...but to answer your question, it was a random edible that a staff member either sent out to all online players at some point, or was a reward for an event.

Anything that has an "eat" option is considered food, and does not have any other use regardless of the graphic it has.

It's also good to note that sometimes, previous staffers weren't very careful about making sure that the food deco they send out was actually edible. So, sometimes you end up with a 'peanut butter dye tub' that is actually a dye tub rather than something you could eat. I don't know for sure which this specific item is but it sounds like one of those lazy-made ones that isn't food.

If I recall correctly, this is a one time use item, I still have mine. It came about when a number of us in world chat were talking about some crazy things that we or family members had done when they were children. I mentioned that my now sister in law had coated the inside of their bathtub in Crisco when she was young, someone else mentioned doing that with peanut butter, and so the Peanut Butter Dye Tub was born and given to everyone online at the time.
