I would love to contribute to the shard but for me pay pal is a deal breaker can any other way be used or put in place to allow this?

Currently, paypal is the only way. You don't have to have a paypal account to process a donation through it, but if you are unwilling to do that then you could perhaps email +C and see if he will make an exception to accept a personal check or money order, but you would need to be prepared for a long delay, and to insure the package when sent via snail-mail.
