Vendors around the world
Vendors around the world
Do vendors have a buy limit these days? I was selling some scrolls to a mage and it ran out of gold after about 2500 gold. Ty !
Re: Vendors around the world
I don't remember there being a limit in the code, so i just tested it and was able to sell 5x 999 heal spell scrolls. Maybe it's that you were carrying too much weight, and the vendor refused to buy more because it would overload you with gold? Look out for anything he might say to you, in most of the game such things give you somesort of error message so you know the reason for something happening or not happening.

It was the Brit mage and he said he was full on stock. I was selling regeants and scrolls. I only tried one vendor so I don't have a lot of data.
Ty +C , I was curious as I sell a lot of junk I collect from hunting.

Re: Vendors around the world
I remember hearing from people selling gems to vendors that it had happened to them, but that would have been years ago.

Re: Vendors around the world
I sell items to NPC vendors all the time, and they often give a "my inventory is full" dialog: sometimes on the first attempt.
I'm sure +C is right, and it has nothing to do with the vendors inventory size.
It's the amount of gold the vendor has in the bank.
I'm not familiar with any of the code for the game, but I assume it must be something like:
B(vendors starting bank) + P(the amount of gold players have given the vendor for purchases) = T(the total amount the vendor has to buy items from players)
Once an NPC vendor runs out of gold, he can no longer buy items from players.
I assume this was meant to be a gold sink in the original coding.
This has never been a problem for me, because of the world teleporters.
I hope this was helpful.

Re: Vendors around the world
I probably just need to check other vendors. I haven't since tried selling but I'm a returning long standing gamer of ex. I've sold millions in value of regs and scrolls to a single vendor in the past and didn't know if this was something new or a fluke.
I have a couple hboh and I am a major hoarder because well I like relayers xD and hey you can buy more hboh with Ed !or luck and so on.
Ty for all your help thus far! As soon as I get the chance to login again I'll visit some more vendors.
