Halloween Event

Post by Pheobe »

Hello Shard!

It was mentioned in world chat tonight so I guess it must be true..... JDI is organizing and player/guild run Halloween event.

We have a 4 x 18 x 18 plot that is currently under renovations, lovingly known as JDI Archives but also known as Pheobe's Collection (no culichi, I'm not selling anything but doubles) and it would be the perfect place to house the event.

First thoughts would be you can either reserve a spot in the house to have a table or space to hand out treats or tricks if you'd like or we can put a house to house gate to link to your own place to have them come and get treats or tricks, your choice.

My thought would be to try and do it on Halloween night, I know it's a week night so I don't know how well that would work for most and time of day can be an issue with us all spread around many different time zones.

You can either respond here about wanting to participate, thoughts, ideas or suggestions or pm Yoda or Pheobe in game (may be easier to just pm Pheobe as she's the more organized one) and we'll update here as more information becomes available!

thats generally the idea get some "treats" make them unique make a shard wide real halloween holiday if you need space such as culichi just indicated we have it.. if you want to make a really over the top halloween area for your portion great, and we can link it in..

lets have a festival, show some spirit.. that sort of fun thing we have alot of rich and creative guilds, (not that it has to be expensive) just have fun with it

I think it would be best to make something repeat on Halloween day and the days around Halloween for the folks that can't log in that day. But I'm excited for anything Halloween related, no matter how you decide to do it.

or.. we can schedule it.. and since its a month away .. people can do this thing called.. "make plans" if they'd like to attend as much as we'd like to accommodate absolutely everyone and be perfectly absolutely and legitimately fair. he'res the thing.

being that fair would take 100x the work, and subsequently make it less fun for us the people doing it.

besides at this point it looks like it would be JDI and DLG doing the giving so... hardly even reason to make it formal, as we aren't doing the masquerade ball and staff is super busy this seemed like a simple solution.

as for not being able to make it, well if you can't you will have to cope with it and buy the items. sorry

Ok.. so here is what we are thinking, in a manner much similar to a grand auction we are likely going to do 2 "event" windows 1 for each day of the last weekend before halloween, and the night of hosting an event.

We really do think of this shard as a community, and one of the things every year were events such as the haunted house, halloween monster bash(s), the masquerade ball.

The thing about the last one in particular it brought out the shard's creativity much like real life halloween does.

So for Jdi's portion of this "Halloween Season" we are doing the following

1. Decorating JDI's new dedicated event facility, the 4x18x18 mickey mouse warehouse as a perfect spot for a halloween party.
2. Pheobe and Yoda at least will be buying a unique halloween treat item, and giving them out to people in costume, carry the spirit of the masquerade ball, sure we don't have a room full of fancy patch graphics, but that hasn't stopped people from making pretty wild renditions of whatever using stock pieces.
3. We will also have a few "Prizes" awarded for special costume deeds. more on that later.
4. We will provide house gates to any other guild/individual spaces participating in this event.

so how do other guilds participate?
say you want a table at JDI Hall'oween party and want to give stuff out - great
say you want to make ______ guild haunted house - even better
say you ... have a brain and better ideas than me - highly likely.

either way let us know your plans and we will link it into the space, deco contest for halloween sponsored by a guild, awesome etc etc etc, lets use some imagination.

This seasonal "thing" is open to all guilds and individuals on the shard no matter who you are, lets come together as a team, bury old hatchets, not worry about the silly stuff that divides..

and cover our properties in a tacky amount of skulls skeletons and stuff, leading to dressing like batman

sound good??

Hello,

Spirits of Totem are going to participate.

We would like a table at the JDI Party and will give out treats =)
We are also working on decorating a place and would love to have a house to house gate put up for it.

Thank you,

Athena

Hi All,

RBG would be happy and honored to participate, i would like to request a table for treat handout by someone from our guild

I've been appointed our guild's coordinator and we've already begun preparing our treat boxes

Will keep checking forum for official date, possibly event name for tagging items, and such

If there's something specific you need from us, pls pm me (Pheobe and culichi, i sent you pm's)

As a side note/offer, while it's unlikely i will have my auction plot set up, it is a large open area that could be used if needed and will happily try to set up a tele in? lemme know :)

Thanks,
Kagura

FFS guild is in!

**Please remember that if you are doing a GM service, player ran event item -- send in your service request within a reasonable time to give the GMs time to create it since the event is coming up quickly!***

try to get your page for player event rewards in by by sunday the 14th so there is enough time for admins to approve the requests and get spawners out in time for event.

codex rules for player event rewards:

Event participation rewards
- 100,000 gold pieces for each, a minimum of 50 must be purchased.
If you organize a scavenger hunt or just want to give out an attendance token for your event. Possible appearances: sash, bust statue, violet energy crystal, green energy crystal, or anything that is easily obtainable in the game and doesn't exceed 10,000gp value. The items can be named and hued to your liking. You can pick a regular hue (range 0-999: red, green, etc...) or a special color (range 1000-3000) if that hue is available and you provide one universal dyetub. All of these items, when hovered over with a mouse, show a line "Player event reward: <PlayerName>, <Date>". The minimum number that must be purchased may change in the future, proportionally to how many people play. There's no criteria for what kind of an event you run, so you can also get these items if you don't actually host an event (for example, for a birthday or aniversary of a guild, etc.) but the format of the item description is the same for all such items, regardless what kind of event they are made for.

Spook-tacular Creepy Tales Event 2018 :woot:

It's the witching hour on a dark, moonless night. You're huddled together with your friends around a campfire taking turns telling stories. Someone has just recounted a particularly eerie tale about an encounter with a ghost, insisting it was true. You sit quietly, staring into the flames, reluctant to let on that it actually made your skin crawl. Then someone in the shadows clears their throat and begins to speak: "Did you hear the one about...?"

Tell us your creepy tale for a chance to win a prize! Entries close 26th October.
