If you actually read this thread you’ll notice muolke suggested starting players with gold, not I.
Just because you’re content, just because things work one way, doesn’t mean we can’t improve for the better. The intent is to offer feedback so +C can see inside the minds of the server and potentially help with future updates when considering the state of the economy, how to improve quality for new members to the shard even if not new to the game.
Also don’t hate on me because I script as much as possible to cut down on carpel tunnel. Maybe you should learn to appreciate others and leave the hate outside where it belongs.
Uoex does a lot of things right and is awesome for sure. What if we could be better is my POV and getting some thoughts over to +C. I do wish more of the newer player base would get involved here. Us Vets have a lot going for us however. In regards to earning.
I like your reply, thank you very much.
And I apologize for getting upity with you.
We agree on a lot and disagree on a few things, which is fine.
Some good ideas are being batted around, maybe have certain resources be found in greater quantity in Mystvale. New players can loot them and sell on vendors.... Assuming no more resources on exex.

Maybe a quest or quests for tools that multiply resources??Charon wrote:Some good ideas are being batted around, maybe have certain resources be found in greater quantity in Mystvale. New players can loot them and sell on vendors.... Assuming no more resources on exex.
Only in Mistvale and the tools are account bound for who does the quest...
Just throwing this out there. It just occurred to me, and have given no thought to it. Too close to bed time for thinking.

Re: +C economy
I have to be honest with you all, this is no new issue and the problem just continues because we keep getting older here :/
When a server reached such high end level what it needs so that newbies feel alive is to create virtual intelligence to feed their needs. We actually need bots buying and selling e.g. on EXEX so that not only they make money but there is a need for basic products which raises their value and also creates an economy for all classes.
This is no easy job but it would probably be the best thing to do, we have bots farming the resources why not having them buying too

Re: +C economy
That’s a really cool idea, I wonder how it could be done without taking advantage of a bot being exploited and selling stuff for too much to it or being able to buy goods too cheap.

Re: +C economy
This would make things even worse. Right now the problem isn't the "supply" it's the "demand". Platinum ingots are at 50 gold on ExEx and Petrified logs at 32 gold. That's less than half the price they used to be.fixxer1963 wrote:Maybe a quest or quests for tools that multiply resources??Charon wrote:Some good ideas are being batted around, maybe have certain resources be found in greater quantity in Mystvale. What we need to do is create more demand. You can fix the demand of ingots by doing many things including like I said earlier placing a monthly "upkeep" on housing. All it would take is 20 platinum ingots and/or 20 petrified logs per month per plot. That right there would solve the demand issue. What you could also do if people are against such a housing upkeep fee is increase the points per level on crafted weapons to 4 instead of 3. That would create a little more demand for crafted items.
I don't think the challenges the economy is facing will be fixed until we incorporate resources back into it. That's ingots, boards, and leather.
The new repair system for leather items that requires leather helped a little and perhaps the same thing needs to happen with metal armor requiring ingots but it's still not enough.
Re: +C economy
Maybe if plat/petri runic farmers with excess mats stopped undercutting each other all the time this wouldn't be the caseMuolke wrote:Platinum ingots are at 50 gold on ExEx and Petrified logs at 32 gold. That's less than half the price they used to be.

Re: +C economy
It's just a supply/demand imbalance. I'm all for an open market and undercutting is part of the market. The problem only becomes evident when there's very little demand...such as now.Animol wrote:Maybe if plat/petri runic farmers with excess mats stopped undercutting each other all the time this wouldn't be the caseMuolke wrote:Platinum ingots are at 50 gold on ExEx and Petrified logs at 32 gold. Re: +C economy
Root cause: anyone here can work all skills and harvest their own resources. Less demand economy wise since you can gather it yourself.
Also with so many people potentially farming resources the market can be saturated from the excess they don't need.
Remove resources from Exex thus eliminating the massive surplus and have players sell on their own vendors.
This will help but the root cause remains. Those who choose to harvest on their own will still do so.
No skill cap isn't great for some aspects of the economy.

Or just have a percentage of what goes into exex cannot be bought back.cope80 wrote:This man wins an internet for saying this. That is all, continue good sirs.Silent wrote:we have bots farming the resources why not having them buying too
Re: +C economy
I am just going to throw this out as an idea. We have raffle tables in Trinsic for gold to buy tickets why not make some for mats like ignots, wood or leather? +C might be able to shed some light on how many tickets are sold to see if a conversion would be worth it. This might make the demand for trade skill items go up a bit more.
Here is another idea. You have an item that is really wanted. Lets say a Titans Hammer. lets say in order to unlock the raffle for the deed the shard needs to donate a set amount of trade good items. For just examples sake lets say 5 million iron ignots. it would need to be set very high and maybe require more then one or two resourses because you would want it to be a shard wide effort. once the shard effort reaches the set goal the raffle takes place. your % chance on winning the raffle would depends on the % you donated to the unlocking effort. The more you helped the bigger your chance to win is.
Of course its easy for me to spout off things like this its +C who would be thrown under the bus to make something like that happen.

I actually like your idea. It becomes a "resources" sink and creates more demand for specific resources.Zanther wrote:I am just going to throw this out as an idea. Re: +C economy
I like the idea of shard wide resource gathering. That could actually be a fun event where we need to donate resources for some cause and those who participate can be rewarded based on how much they donated.
I wonder if a resource dump could be added to the seasonal quests like the repeatable ones for deco. That would at least provide a constant demand for some resource.

Re: +C economy
Bring back some of the deco that was removed from the deco room. Bring back the snowy fences that used to sell at Christmas time. Start using some of the insanely cool items you have already coded in. Maybe make them cost resources.
