Beehives too close?
Beehives too close?
I read that having more then 22 beehives close together is bad. How close is too close? I have two 18x18 lots right next to each other. Not connected but right next to each other. I just put beehives on my second lot and I noticed my main hive setup is not producing now. Coincidence or is it related?

uoex wiki has all the info you need for bees https://www.uoex.net/wiki/Apiculture_(b ... eekeeping) . its actually pretty simple once you read that the only thing not mentioned in there is the new wax refiner. if you have any questions about the wax refiner pm me ingame or ask in world chat im sure someone will answer.

After doing more digging, I found this thread that answered my questions

The ideal number of hives is 24 for your whole account, no matter where they are located. That explains why I went from 22 to 44 my original 22 stopped producing. The new 22 hives were growing and causing the other hives to fail at a higher rate. Today 66% of the mature hives failed but all of the new hives grew.

The ideal number is 22 because that let's you stand in the middle and have your script reach all of them in a single run. Because the non-production increases rapidly after 20, 24 don't produce meaningfully more than 22.

I’ve been doing my beehives by hand. Is there a script for UO Orion available?

I tried to make one, but the beehive gump is pretty hard to decipher. I just use a macro to open them all, then manually feed them.
I do have a script to collect honey and beeswax.

I wrote an OpenEUO script you can find here on the forums. It needs a little work to use as is but one of the things it does just fine is decipher the beehive gump. If you want a reference how to do it, look there and write the equivalent in Orion.davethemage wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 10:36 amI tried to make one, but the beehive gump is pretty hard to decipher.

Cool thanks Wil. I will look into it when I have a chance. would be great to not have to manually do it every day.Wil wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 2:21 pmI wrote an OpenEUO script you can find here on the forums.
