Strange Information

Post by M3D1CN1 »

Did you know that everyones age today is 2023*
the whole world is the same age! Today is a very special day and only happens once every (1,000) years
Your age + your year of birth, every person = 2023
so strange it cant be explained
You check it out and see if its 2023

I am 60 born 1963 so 60+1963 = 2023

This is wild! It does have to be what age you became or will become this year. And... Next year it will happen again! And the next....

Assuming you're at or past your birth day:
Age = (Current year - Year Born)
Age + Year Born = (Current Year - Year Born) + Year Born
Age + Year Born = Current Year

Really? Every 1000 years?

Let's say the year is 1900. A man was born in 1840 and manages to live to be 60. 60 + 1840 = 1900. This man has a son who was born in 1870. That would make him 30 years old in 1900. 30 + 1870 = 1900. It's the same for every year. Nothing rare about this at all.

Was the joke that the math was actually wrong? It'd be correct any year, but only on December 31.

I still don't get the joke. It's just ordinary circular reasoning with someone saying, "oh look, this ordinary thing is rare and amazing!" I guess it could become funny if people started arguing about whether it was true because they checked with their age and it was right/wrong. But if you're looking for the mathematically illiterate, this probably isn't the place to find them.

The math doesn't work before your birthday occures, but of course it works on and after your birthday. Was the OP supposed to be some kind of joke?
