Winners of Cygnus's Writing Event for 2024

Post by Cygnus »

Congratulations to the following winners of my Writing Event for 2024. As always, the talent we have on this shard has shone through. We truly have some amazing, talented individuals in our Excelsior community. Please take some time out of your busy day to to read their submissions. You will be surprised at the level and quality of their work. You can find these stories located on the 3rd floor of my library, right wing. Just head to the House Gates, look east and find the green square tile with my name on it. In the right wing will be a telepad by the stairs with a book on it. Jump on that and you will be right in event area. This years entries are bound in black and displayed on tables.

First Place - The Butcher by Rex Lightfingers

Second Place - White Tower by Desenex

Third Place - Son of Shame by Buttery Biscuits

Honorable Mention (Stories receiving top 3 votes)
Archmage Disciple by Sortilege
Necromancer by Zalia
The Broken Rune by Arandros
A Meeting with Death by Desenex

Stories were judged by anonymous judges unknown to the writers and themselves.

All participants who turned in a story received a participation reward, 100k in gold and a copy of their masterpiece. First, second and third received 5 million, 3 million and 1 million gold respectively.

The next contest will be held hopefully in May, so start jotting down your ideas now and I will see you then.

I love this event! We have some very talented peeps here at Excelsior, and I love that this event brings out a different set of skills. I am an avid reader and truly enjoy the imagination and writing skills of those participating. So Thank you Cygnus for hosting, and to all the participants for giving us another way to enjoy Excelsior! I have only gotten through half the entries so far, but I will eventually read them all and enjoy every one of them!
