I did look into the matter to make sure the penalty is just. We've found out that this AFK surely wasn't the first time as players who were there tried to talk to you and you weren't there, but just standing still for hours with pets out. It was treated as 2nd offense.

I understand that having a child can distract you from gaming, not just from time to time, but even many a day. But you have to plan ahead, and not start a game if you know there's a good chance you'll have to go away from a computer (or perhaps do something that you know you can put on a pause very quickly, or something that doesn't have a no-afk rule).

thank u i understand more now and i like the way you worded that and im really sorry bout that i guess ill just have to play more when shes asleep or something lol

We've seriously gotten to the point to where walking away from the computer with the game running warrants jail time? This couldn't be solved by shrinking the pets, moving the player and giving a warning?

Players now count as sufficient cause to determine first and second offense?

This is the way this shard is. We have got to learn to deal with it like other people are.

Kind of like whats-his-face said. Just deal with it. You don't like it then leave. (I don't mean you directly) Its not hard to shrink your pets or recall out of a dungeon, or simply just hide.

I do think 72hrs however was a little harsh. I am not staff though so i do not have a say so. I will just say if its your 2nd offense then justice has been served. Kid or no kid, you broke the rules.

I got a speeding ticket today, though i don't like the fine i am having to pay ($300 65 in a 30 :) ) i am going to have to suck it up and be grateful they didn't take my license and bust me for reckless driving.

Just have fun, and try not to break the rules.

I don't know Athena nor do I particularly care. But if they want to be ball busters on every rule then you can expect clarifications and consistency to be demanded.

The thing I take issue with is penalties without warnings. Going purely for what Coli said, a player was used to establish the first offense how is that fair? I don't care if I'm the one reporting it, why are there "2nd offense" punishments being dished out without ever giving a first warning. Again this is purely going off what Coli said.

I agree.

I think it would be wise if we just walk away from the crime scene and not get involved with this. Let the staff do their jobs and we will keep playing and having fun.

First off, thank you for your concern.

Chroma, you hit the nail right on the head. Let us work it out, you enjoy the shard. :)

We particularly care about situations like this, and we don't penalize without reason. Perhaps there is more information about the situation that was not posted. With this in mind, maybe it would be a good idea to express initial concern and leave it at that. It is never a good idea to start flinging accusations without the knowledge of the situation, all that does is make people look foolish in the end.

Thanks for the concern, see you in game!

Perhaps you should more carefully read what I said.

I asked questions, and said twice that my post was based off what Coli said. I was very specific.

For a long time I've always done what was in the best interest of the accused player. Tried to find reasons to lift or shorten the jailtime. But i see now that so many players already do that themselves, and they have friends that tell the same story, which basically ended up with just a lot of warnings. And considering this isn't a country where one case could be treated by several officers, lawyers, and judges... we're a couple of folks trying to keep this shard up to code, the code which got many of the players to join in the first place, expecting others will abide. For some time I could even spend a whole day finding evidence and deciding and debating on the course of action, but after so many small violations i can't treat everything like if unfair sentence would destroy the person's life.

We had some extra info, though I admit it isn't a very correct way to consider it as evidence, I have no reason to believe that they lied. But this wasn't a murder trial where Athena would go in prison for 20 years, this was about a 24 hour jail, which is over now, and this topic is now closed.
